Jack is starting to look very good compared to Ben and Locke (who has so much blood on their hands at this point).

Jesus Christ, what an episode. Shocked me over and over the entire way through.
I can't even talk about it, it was so awesome. This season has been fantastic, and this was probably one of the best this season, which really says something. Holy shit. |

Pap, if I still had my beloved Tracey (aka my TiVo) hooked up, I would've done the same damn thing!
BTW, if anyone wants to make a new Sawyer love thread (the old one is too vague/OT) and create an Alex thread (we welcome and support postmortem love/hate), they will get their thread Indexed and receive 25 GIAA Bucks! /shameless LOST Index plug |

Hurley: "Australia is the key to the whole thing, dude."
This line speaks volumes. We open the show with a board game. Somehow we get the feeling that Ben Linus and Charles Widmore are also locked in a game of their own. The rules have changed. S. |

invested in certain characters to a certain degree. If the series finale was next week it certainly wouldn't break my heart a this point.

2005? 2005, indeed!
So I get the feeling that in 2005 both Widmore and Ben don't know where the island is. Yet Ben can teleport through time and space without being on the island? |

No, Ben knows where the island is. "The hunt is on" refers to Ben's hunt for Penny and Widmore's hunt for the island.

I got a feeling Penny is on the island in the future.

That's what I was thinking too... which is extremely ironic.

the only thing i didn't like tonight is when ben went all "james bond-y" on widmore in the penthouse confrontation.
"do not reveal your entire evil plan before killing them" is a rule that should never be violated in television or movies. it doesn't matter that widmore should experience penny's death before widmore is whacked. just tell him of the plan and then immediately whack HIS ass before he can do anything about it. he will get the implications (the quilt and sorrow, etc. trust me.) and then widmore would be out of the equation. stupid ben... |

I agree with those that think that Charles' "You'll never find her." meant that by that point in the future Penny is on the island. Did Charles purposely leak information in a way that Penny could discover the island on her own and she would get herself there to look for Desmond to protect her from Ben? Does this link back to Desmond getting the boat from Libby? Widmore setting this all up to get Penny on the island?
I don't know. |

I assumed that neither of them could find the island. If Penny WAS on the island, then Ben would have no problem finding her and killing her. Therefore,
either she's NOT on the island (in which case, she is fucked and will most definitely die, unless Desmond kills Ben), or Ben can't find the island
again either.

That's what I'm thinking. Something happened and Ben can't get back there either. That's why he is so confident that Widmore won't find
it either.

I didn't think he expected to be there either, and what happened to his arm? That's a great little detail that will play out later, I'm sure.

Last year the Jericho nerds deluged the network with peanuts. It got their show back.
We need to do something similar here. Because when they pick a Lost episode to submit for Emmy consideration, it needs to be this one. Because this one will win. Michael Emerson will receive an acting award. We really have to make sure that happens. It was among the greatest hours of television I've ever seen. Very apt title as well. I suspect that this really is shaping things up for the rest of the series. We'll shift from the island to the larger game. I have a funny feeling that when we do meet up with Jacob, he actually will explain everything about the island, for better or worse. All those answers will finally come. And then they'll set up the mysteries of the game, and play that out over the next two seasons. Also remember that they hired Emerson for only a couple of episodes and kept them on because they liked his performance. Implying none of this was supposed to be in the master plan. Or so they've implied. |

And just what was that tubular-looking black thing Ben was carrying with him? I think they twice showed him holding it. Didn't look like a gun.
