The sudden hype simply pushed her over. She's probably been the neighborhood kook all her life. No wonder she's never had a relationship & has never been kissed. A Met Police Inspector and a police doctor were called to assist. The ambulance, tailed by a police car, then took her to the Priory clinic in Southgate, North London. The Susan Boyle in the imagination of the media is this saintly oppressed spinster with an angelic voice (bonus points for looking fug) while the real Susan Boyle is a mentally not-quite-there, socially awkward, talented but not that talented woman who is having serious problems adjusting to the limelight.
