How about the fact that the law school is a state university - paid for by taxpayers - and it wasn't more work for them - they just sat there and got instruction on how to survive the Socratic method (look it up if you are clueless, it sucks when it is thrown at you on your first day), a few students were offended by the stereotyping that they couldn't do it on their own and they walked out. That is not the kind of program MLK would want, I am sick of the color of someone's skin still being the focus of who they are as a person. Read J.C. Watts' book if you want to be enlightened. |

If you want the color of a person's skin to become completely irrelevant, then you should vote for Obama. If he wins the presidency, the racism issue
becomes moot.

Sadly in this country, the color of a persons skin will never be irrelevant.

ya know, Hillary might have been accepted into law school due to affirmative action too - schools were trying to get more women as well as minorities into
their graduate programs

I am sick of the color of someone's skin still being the focus of who they are as a personAh, I'm guessing you're white. You're just a big whiner. I'm sure there's another similar program that you're more than eligible for. You just see an opportunity that you can't have because you're not in a cultural minority. You might like to look that word up if you own a dictionary. Sometimes minorities have to do things for themselves to level the playing field. Judging from how appalled you are at such a program means that there is still a ways to go to naturally level that playing field.

I take MLK's speech and goals to heart. And I get ill every time i hear the media saying "an historic day for Obama and the country" or "a
time people thought they would never see" or "not the likeliest nominee" - just focus on him - not his ethnicity. Why does the NAACP exile
anyone who does not agree with their policy positions? Even if they are of the ethnicity they claim to represent and protect, I would assume regardless of
their political ideals. Why does the National Organization for Women condemn those women who dare to take a different moral or political position than they
do, even though they are, in fact, also "women", part of their "organization"? Why does the democratic party, supposedly the party of
"tolerance" and diversity, alienate those who differ at all in opinion from them, even if they are of the so-called protected classes they themselved
claim to be the ones protecting? I'll listen.

Anyone who listened to that speech and still says that Obama has no plans or isn't fit to be President does not care about this
country. Fact. And I'd have more respect for them if they'd just admit that they're bitter, hopeless people who want to watch
the United States continue turning to shit. Unless they're really that delusional. If so, that's just so fucking sad. I truly pity them.
I cannot fathom a human being comparing Obama to McCain at this point in time, after everything we've been through this decade, and siding with the latter. It is beyond. Fucking. Comprehension. |

Thank you StarrElse. I'll take my queues from you tonight -- short and sweet.
Obama's speech -- A- Convincing, full of meat and potatoes, aimed at his base and at independents, will probably not win over any republicans, probably gave a few lines for McCain and others to mock next week Al Gore's speech -- C- Did he have an appointment to go to afterwards. He read it way way too fast. Nothing memorable. |

It is historic and when I was a child I never thought I'd see someone who wasn't white being the candidate of a major political party. Geraldine
ferraro being a VP candidate was historic. Kennedy being the first catholic candidate was historic. Lieberman was the first jewish VP condidate too as far as I
know.

Other than being a "white" "whiner" neither of which are true, what have i not been listening to? Didn't you hear your Obama say you
can differ in opinion and still not be a bad person?
