So you really thought Obama was going to ask her to be his running mate?
Seriously??!?! |

Well Harold, I have to admit I am beginning to understand that. Hillary has many facets, some of them incredibly admirable and still believable, and some of
them rotten and divisive. However she seems to be smarter than some of her own supporters when push comes to shove.

If you seriously thought Obama would offer her the vice president spot -- and that she would have actually accepted it -- means you don't really know Hillary and you certainly don't understand American politics very well.I didn't think he would offer it to her at all, that wasn't even what I said. She earned the right to be VP. She had half the votes. Joe Biden dropped out in like Iowa. Also if Hillary would have won, I would have expected Obama's supporters to be livid. There was the Michigan/Florida controversy and the debate about Superdelegates deciding the race, all of which would have probably came into Hillary winning. If you wouldn't be pissed about that, then you truly aren't as passionate about Obama. |

She earned the right to be VP. She had half the votes. That's pretty much the worst criteria ever for choosing a vp. |

sadllama wrote:Not really, because if you want to win you have to get as many of your opponents supporters as possible. I realize you want someone who you work well with and can govern, whoever picking someone for those reasons could be pointless if you don't even win. I think Obama had a huge oppurtunity to pick a VP that could bring in more voters. I don't really think McCain has that luxury, and now they are basically level pegging. Hillary is patting his back in public and sticking a knife in it in private.Exactly. Just because she made a speech supporting him tonight doesn't mean shit. I mean was she suppose to come out and say McCain FTW? Hillary is a fucking mediawhore. She wants to go down in history as the first female president. She believes it was her birthright (<3!) and she's going to manipulate and stab whoever is in the way <3. All the reasons people mention about hating her (bitchy, manipulative, mean, cold etc.) is exactly what has endeared me to her. It's not like I'm delusional and think that Hillary is a gift to the human race like you all do with Obama. I accept the bitch for what she is and embrace it.

These Hillary lovers are starting to sound like Clay-mates. Gives us old bags a bad name.

If I were John McCain, I would announce a woman for my vice presidential candidate on Friday afternoon. Maybe even a black woman. (Of course, there's
basically only one qualified Republican black woman)
swim4life, all you're doing now is trying read Hillary's mind, not listening to her speeches or intimating her thoughts. In fact, I think you're selling her short, coloring her as a candidate who is purely vicious and not believable. I think she knows what to do for the good of her country and she can put aside her weapons until another time when she can use them WHICH IS NOT NOW. ETA: I love that they brought out various pantsuits and held them up to the set to see which photographed the best.

I have to say that was a tremendous speech by Hillary. I think Bill will drop another great one tomorrow, and Obama on Thursday.
I do feel bad for Biden though. Everyone is looking around, thinking to themselves, "why isn't Hillary on the ticket". Can't wait to see his speech. |

Are you referring to Condilicious?
<3. <3 If she is the VP, McCain will probably die in the first few weeks since he's so old. Then she would become the first black, female, and lesbo president <3 |

Obama people used the line "He wants Hilary in the senate, he needs a leader like her in the senate." And then he goes and picks another senator.
Guess he didn't needa leader like him in the senate, then?
I think the people pissed about the Hillary thing are pissed at the democrat party process. It's fucked up.

I at least accept my candidate for what she is. She's a vicious, manipulative, diva politician who is trying to make sure Obama doesn't win so she can run again in four years. It's a bit curious that none of the Obama supporters gave her any ounce of credit throughout the primary seasons. Now suddenly when she's urging her voters to back Obama, she's suddenly being truthful and geniunely wants Obama to be the president. How convenient that you guys back her up now. |

Here's another example of the disease afflicting the
Democrats.
So much for unity. It does say a lot about the Clintons' ability to make people forget. |

No, the disease afflicting the dems is not the dems fault, it's the people who think it's all about personality. I don't support Obama because of
his superstar/messiah personality but his politics. I didn't support Hillary because of her politics, but her personality doesn't help. I don't
care if McCain was a war hero, he doesn't know shit about economics or foreign affairs, or much of anything. And John Edwards is still the same guy he was
before.
This is the politics thread, and yet, where's the beef? |

How much more fucked up can your economy get?You are either a child who has no clue how bad things can be or you're just to stupid to understand economics. Either way don't bet against America rebounding or you will lose. |
