Has anyone noticed how congressional republicans are now saying we should focus on solving important issues instead of persuing Karl Rove or Monica Goodling or
ending abuses? Where was this urgent need to solve problems when republicans controlled the House? For 10 years they did nothing but introduce frivolous bills
renaming libraries, praising hot dogs and condemning french fries, and now they want to solve real problems?

Strange Flute wrote: your timing is way off on this one. House voted 213-212 today (no GOP in affirmative) to adjourn until mid-September without letting the topic of drilling for domestic oil come to a vote. Enjoy your high energy costs courtesy of the Dem controlled congress. |

I guess Democrats think that energy costs are not as important to the average American as apologizing for slavery.
They had to prioritize their efforts. |

The majority of americans realize Bush is full of shit. Lifting the drilling ban isn't going to affect oil prices. It may see a small fluctuation at the
market, but only temporarily. Oil isn't going to be any cheaper if we get it from Canada, Saudi Arabia or Alaska.

You're supposed to say it's not going to lower prices in the short term, Flute. Get your talking points right.
And hope that the benefit of lessening our dependence upon foreign countries who hate us doesn't come up. |

If you really want to see the price of oil/gas drop, tell your congressman to investigate and regulate the market. BINGO! Instant price reduction.

The Virgin Murray |

Oh, I see. So Congress regulates how much OPEC is going to charge us for oil?
Brilliant! Do they teach this crap in schools these days instead of supply and demand? |

Strange Flute |

OPEC and Big Oil don't set the price, the market does. You know better than that, Murray

I fear this will be someone's 2010 Ph.D. doctoral thesis: "It's not fair that OPEC gets to charge us so much for their oil. They should
learn to share!"
