I just think that of ALL the dance techniques, viewers respond least to Disco. I enjoy the routines immensely, but I feel that if a team doesn't have a
strong fan base, the disco doesn't do much for them with the voters.

Disco is hard because it requires major partnering skills from both dancers and it requires the dancers to be able to have the personality to pull it off. If
they're not good enough then the routine seems stupid because the lifts are too slow and don't spin fast enough. If they can't pull it off with
their personality it looks stupid.

I think part of the problem is Doriana's propensity to put in too many lifts. A lot of the time, it makes the choreography suffer because there are moves
put in to set up a lift. Sara and Neil's dance worked because the lifts were minimized and the ones that were left fit really well with the rest of the
choreography.
As for Dan, he usually sucks but I did like his choreography for Danny and Anya. The problem was they weren't in sync. So maybe if he gets Josh or Twitch or Comfort, it may work out this time. He is a good judge though. I heard Wade won't be back this year and neither will Shane. We already lost Brian (who I really liked because he did that insane doll dance for Dmitry and Ashley in season 2) and Jean Marc may be working more on the Canada version of the show. Debbie Allen excused herself as judge so new talent this year? Maybe they'll get old contestants to choreograph some more. Dmitry's samba last year was one of my favorites. I want to see Travis, Benji, Ivan, Danny, Pasha, Anya, or other people I like choreograph something. |

Here is some video I found of Comfort Fedoke...
During the Dallas auditions, we pretty much had to take Nigel's word for it that Comfort (sometimes spelled Komfort) Fedoke is the best female hiphopper
the show had seen. Thanks to a reader, we have video to give us some idea of what to expect from her.

In fact, hip-hop is probably one of the most consistently boring genres in the SYTYCD format (that last part is a very important distinction). |

I hated that mannequin routine.
They didn't get much credit for it and even ended up in the B3, but I really liked Dominic and Sabra's disco by Doriana in week one last year. Dom instantly became my favorite that week because I thought he had so much personality, and his dancing was really good, especially considering how far outside his comfort zone he was. Their amazing contemporary piece the following week only cemented what I had already decided about that pair... I do and don't agree with you. While I thought the dance/choreography itself wasn't very good, I thought they did well with it and it made me like them, because they made that shitty routine not completely sucky. |

Doriana & Dan >>>>>>>>>>> Tyce.
Most of Tyce's pieces leave me embarassed for him and for the dancers. The (in)famous Benji/Donyelle dance to "You Can't Stop The Beat" was probably the worst single piece of choreography I've ever seen on this show! |

I know...she , imo, is the best female hip hop dancer ever on SYTYCD

Wasn't the disco routine last year with Sabra & Dom the first week he dropped her on her head?

No, I believe the first time Dom dropped Sabra on her head was in the top 16 group dance(hairspray routine)-you see it in Sabra's Final 4 interview with
Cat.

Ah ok thanks. It seemed to happen entirely too often.

Sea, I think he may have dropped her in REHEARSALS for the disco number, but not on the performance show.

I would bet money that he dropped her on her noggin multiple times in rehearsals that week.

Actually, I kind of liked Tyce's "Hairspray" routine...But again, for me, it's just as much about the song as the dance that is danced to it.
I guess we have a chance to see if we like Napoleon and Tabitha as the new Hip Hop choreographers, because it would appear that Shane, at least, is gone. I think since Dan was on the judges' panel, we'll see a dance or two from him. |

When Cat says
"Here are your girls...Here are your guys"...I just get so incredibly excited. Add Marquis to my list of crushes...So...Thayne, Marquis, Chris...and Matt might be off the list...not sure yet. |
