Hanson - excellent analysis. I am also a huge fan of Alex DaSilva. The mambo from season 1 was great - I remember being shocked that Ryan could pull it off.
It's like I said earlier. Alex refuses to dumb down his choreography which I actually appreciate even though it can create some trainwrecks.
If they pair him with Comfort or Jessica, I may start voting because it's like they're telling him to leave. I was thinking about voting this week but I knew Thayne/Comfort/Jessica would go home so I didn't bother. I hope they abandon this effort with Will - but I saw a TV Guide poll and he was ranked 3rd as voters' favorite dancer (it was Josh, Twitch, Will, Mark, Katee, and I forget the rest). I don't really get his appeal - he's got great movement but I find myself not caring (while I did with Danny). |

Hanson, they DID comment on Gev and Courtney's lack of technique (Mia flat out said they're not close to being the best dancers there). They just
partially excused it because of their chemistry and performance. It's not unlike what they say to Mark. The difference is, Mark's technique and
training look pretty damn good (to me, at least).

Loved Bollywood.
Actually thought Will & Jessica's quickstep was fun, and their first number was unique and at times beautiful. But the judges were a bit overboard on it. Odd that we had to hear Mia's story about the musical choice because I thought the strongest part of the music was how there was so much silence in it, especially at the end. Mia saying to Will "I think you're tired of carrying" Jessica was bold. I am the ninety eighth person to bring it up after all. My take on it was that it was horribly unfair to Will. What's he going to say? It's like asking him if he's stopped beating his dog. Will's gold nugget dropping greatness - My opinion on the guy is that he's got the most control over his body out of all the dancers on the show and by a wide margin. But - he rarely gets called for his mistakes and he does have moments where he makes them. But that wouldn't be an issue if the judges weren't calling him perfect and and blaming Jessica for everything but the war in Iraq. Will's real shortcoming to me is that he always seems at the same level personality wise. Both in his performances and what we see of him in the taped bits. He's good but I don't know if he's ever been great in a performance. There's just not a lot of variation from him. Not sure that will win him a following in the individual voting. I love Courtney, she's cute and one of the best performers on the show. But I think Katee is the girl to beat. That may change later but right now Katee has surprised me the most. Mark is so clearly the best performer (not to be confused with dancer) on the show - even as he's being critiqued he is giving the performance of "serious dancer respectfully taking judges criticism". Like him a lot. Still think Joshua is the frontrunner though. |

I didn't say the judges didn't comment on it, but that they glossed over G&C's technical issues but put them front and center with Josh & Katee. I don't see the chemistry between Gev and C at all. It suggested repeatedly in the pre-dance segments, but I don't see it coming from them. They're both very boring. Well, Gev's cool when he's doing tricks. Courtney's as exciting as a cod fillet.

Can someone help me out here, please? Which girl did Mia compliment as looking so gorgeous she wanted to kill her or hurt her, etc.in the first round---was it
Jessica? Could that account for her cunty remark later on? fwiw, Jessica may not be a "genius," but she's done far better than to deserve to be
called dead weight.
I don't get the Courtney/Gev love at all. I almost always forget them when I'm thinking back on performances. I think it was 54321blastoff who said something about Chelsie being a shallow, annoying, immature twit, but that's just it: she is, then she comes out on stage with elegance, sex appeal, and maturity that blows me away. It's so odd. Her onstage persona is nothing like it is offstage. I'm so going to miss Katee and Joshua together. Everyone else, I'm looking forward to seeing partnered up w/ others. |

When did they ever say anything negative about Katee's technique? Not since the "No Air" hip hop when they gave her a VERY WARRANTED comment about her chest popping, but still praised her up one side and down the other... |
