I was a big Matt and Kourtni fan so I'm bummed to see them go. I don't think Kourtni brings enough emotional maturity yet to really connect (with
everything, with the audience, with Matt, with some of the dances). She is amazing, though. I really liked her solo -- her style seems to be a lot more angsty.
While I think they did great at the freakish comic book dance, I think both of them would have nailed a Mia Michaels routine.
Matt was one of the few attractive guys left, plus he is far and away a better personality than Thayne. I cannot believe Thayne is still there and that they
all voted for Matt to go. I thought Matt's solos were awesome and I much, much, much prefer his dancing to Thayne's. Thayne should have been gone every
week he's been in the bottom three. I literally gasped when they cut Marquis over Thayne because his solo was so weak.
I actually think, though, that the judges wanted to cut Matt and there was absolutely no way that Kourtni could partner with either Thayne or Gev. And I
ultimately think that's what killed her chances at ever really succeeding this season -- she is bigger than most of the men on the show. If she and Matt
were able to manage their way into the top 10, she'd be one of the first few gone because the partnerships would be so freakishly wrong-looking.
Eh, oh well.
