I thought Michael was decent (the "living in America" stuff doesn't bother me), although every time I hear this song I think of poor Jordis from
Rock Star. Pitchy makes me roll my eyes, as Steven Tyler is certainly pitchy himself. I'm glad they reminded him he's not a rock star.
The ascot is very stupid, although last week's was worse. Won't be surprised if he's bottom three, with only eight people left and performing first. |

2. Syesha Mercado - "I Believe" (Fantasia)
Aside from the odd eyebrow raising, the intro is subdued and good-ish. The Choir comes in and all but drowns out Syesha and shows her weakish voice. It gets messier from there. But then Syesha has been hiding a Mariah- note. A 6, maybe 7. Randy: Credit for taking on another Tiger. But Fantasia had a connection with it and you didn't. Paula: Don't compare her to MANtasia. Randy: She (Fantasia) sang the living daylights out of it. Paula: You flipped it and made it all your own. This is hands down one of your most shining nights. Simon: Of course there's a comparision, you did well, but it mnissed the big, big wave of emotion. Last week Whitney, this week Fantasia, I want to know who YOU are. But good tonight. |
