Yeah, that was very weird. Kinda uncomfortable. I wonder if they would have made a Jewish contestant sing those songs. They'd probably have to suck it in and sing anyway so they wouldn't lose votes. How lame.

That's true. Jewish was a bad example, though. Let's say the person is an atheist. First of all, I wonder if the producers would have taken their objections to the song seriously. Plus it's harder to tell if somebody is an atheist just from their apearance and last name. Then the contestant would have to make the decisions of either revealing their beliefs and risking losing votes or keeping things hidden. Guess that's what you have to do if you want to be a celebrity (not just famous, but celebrated by people).
