Posts: 196 (09/02/07 8:03 AM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Now that I've seen some of the ads/previews etc. for China, I'm really digging all the decorative set stuff: At challenges, those wooden gates at the tribe camps, a stone statue I saw behind Chicken in one shot. It makes me all of a sudden desperate for some new seasons with more civilized culture themes. - Greece (as said above) - EGYPT! (probably already suggested millions of times) - Even France, Italy, India, Mexico could be really cool if done properly. I don't think I realized how sick I was of skulls and islands until just now.

I can't believe they still haven't gone here. It has everything: beaches, forests, jungles, exotic wildlife, and it just sounds Survivorish. New Caledonia: Yes, it's an island, but islands are quintessential Survivor. The Isle of Pines (I think a French season filmed there once) offers a unique island atmosphere. Plus it completes the Melanesian trifecta with Fiji and Vanuatu. Iceland: They have to do at least one cold-weather season. They just have to. Iceland is the place to do it. They could place the tribes near some hot springs which would allow for some bikini-time and it would have a cool Viking theme. Peru: The counterpart to Guatemala, it could be Survivor: Peru/The Andes- The Inca Empire. Cloud forests are a unique setting, and the Inca theme would work. New Zealand: Like Madagascar it has a little bit of everything and it's just Survivorish.

Survivor: Greece would be awesome, it's a no brainer.

There are some national parks in the southernmost parts of the country which are home to the last asiatic lions/elephants/tigers. Also, Hindu temples and Indian culture would be great material for challenges. Also, wouldn't be awesome if they trained the Survivors to skydive/parachute like thay had planned for Season 2?

I think New Caledonia and Madagascar are the best bets for locations, although I'll always hope for Survivor: The Canadian Wilds.

Posts: 112 (12/05/07 9:42 PM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Well, if there are only a couple of seasons left to go (which I hope doesnt end up happening) then I think we should eliminate Madagascar and Peru as future locations becuase we have seen locations like these before (Vanuatu & Guatemala). I really hope they could go to India. This country has everything survivor needs: 1. Culture. Culture. Culture. 2. Brutal Jungles 3. Close towns/cities. 4. Monsoon Storms. India is a vast land and as you go from one state to another, there is a huge difference in culture, languages, people, etc. The landsacape is unique. If they do end up shooting here, I cant wait to see: Tribal Council Torch Snuffer Challenges Rewards Opening Theme etc, etc, etc.

Madagascar is NOTHING like Vanuatu. Google it. Anways, I don't think "culture" should be that big a factor. I admit I was excited by China but now I can admit that I was wrong about islands being so bad. China is too cultured, plus the landscape is boring. It's a man-made reservoir and farmlands. Although it's exotic to us, culture really doesn't fit the whole Survivor theme. It should be as primitive and primal as possible.

WTF!! Survivor is supposed to be about hot, exotic, remote locals. Europe pretty much goes against all of that. It's much colder than other Survivor spots, crowded with people and tourists and full of man-made structures. China and Australia worked because they are massive countries with a lot of acres of land that are deserted. greece? no so much. And as far as the themes being cool, I disagree. It would seem extremely stupid to have Gods of Olympus, Vikings and...............the Eiffel tower , as themes.

I took a trip all around Mexico this summer and there's a lot of interesting, different areas they could do a season in. Southern Mexico is very similar to Guatemala (even some of the same ruins) but the deserts in Western/Northern Mexico are awesome. Very different from the other desert-y survivor seasons too.

I think one of the most appealing thing about the Outback was that it was set in Australia. Australia is not supposed to be exotic or have a culture that is so different from America. The scenery in that season is something you could see in Arizona or Nevada. And I think that makes it really interesting. After about 14 seasons where the location was either an island or an inland exotic jungle, its time to go to a place like New Zealand or Jordan.
