They've kept the music really quiet this season with all the promos. Looking forward to see what Russ has in store for us all. :D

i know! i totally agree... i hope we will get a first 5 minute preview like we have gotten the past few seasons! if we do it will probablly be this thursday

In the promo, I distinctly heard what sounded like cedar flute music. I'm thinking we'll get an Amazon or Guatemala like theme that's not that an
overly drastic remix. Probably some new percussion sections and a few new background chants, but any money says the flute is the most prominent element.
From a visual standpoint, I'm hoping they go back to an action shot and a still shot of each castaway. Now that they're using HD, they can probably afford to get even more creative with those shots. I'm also hoping they remember to add the "One Survivor" caption this season....they've left it out 3 seasons in a row now. My only other wish for the new intro is that they show all the castaways until the merge. I think for China they struck a balance between not shafting the early boot completely, and the need to squeeze in a few extra second of commercials. |

I don't know why they felt the need to change it througout the season to accomodate people who, for some reason, starting to watch the show mid season. I
would have thought the majority of people watching it at this point would be fans who enjoy the full intro every week..

An gross sounding chopped-up version though. I actually wouldn't mind the removal of booted castaways, if they kept the song the same length and just
added more nature shots or extended the intros of the people still remaining instead of just chopping up the theme.

Instead of removing the early boots quickly, maybe replace their action shot with one of them at tribal council having their torch snuffed, and make their
still shot black & white or something. But if I were Russ Landau, I'd be pissed if I went to the trouble of creating a 1-minute masterpiece only to
have it chopped to pieces so some backwoods CBS affiliate has time to broadcast the local lottery results.

I'm looking forward to the new intro. I hope they use still photos instead of two action shots like China and Gabon.
Specifically, I hope they use the film-real, "long distance" shots like they did in Fiji. Those were really cool.

Maybe to mix things up a bit, the still shot could be from the challenges/camp life and the action shots are the close-ups.
