^I agree. Most have talent but are not entertaining. It's kind of hard to care whether they get signed or not either.

Season 3 also had some of the most awesome audience members. Amy's hot bf, Great Big Eyepatch Woman in the wheelchair, and of course Whatevia. <3 Season 3 <3 Amen to that. I wish I still had a picture of the Great Big Eyepatch Woman. I loved Season 6. But that is due solely to Jordin. Everyone else kinda sucked (ok, not Melinda), but on the whole, they were still more talented and more interesting that the shit we got on Season 2. I can't stand watching any of those performances. They were all boring and shitty. And even the good vocal performances were boring. I didn't even have a favorite that season, though I do love KLo now. |

Easily The Last Talented Season | ||
|
Season 3 is far and away the least talented. Seasons 1 & 6 had deficient male talent, but nothing on this huge a scale. Leah. Fatt. Camile. Just Please
Leave. Snotra. Jasmalian. Mantasia. 7 people undeserving of being in the top 12 (including the winner), in one season. Anybody saying a different season had
worse telent needs their hearing examined.

I just had a psychically phenomenal, precognitive vision. It was kind of blurry and dark, but I could make out the figure of what looked to be a man, possibly black or white, possibly British or American. Whoever he was, I will say that I definitely felt, as well as heard, the conviction in his voice when he announced that AI's season 8 top 24 was the best ever! Right after he said that, I heard the faint bark of an unseen dog, followed by what sounded like the faint titter of an unseen and possibly, inebriated, woman. |

Couldn't find the ratings thread so this kinda belongs here:
"Fallen Idol. American Idol was still the biggest thing on TV this week, but by a smaller margin than normal: a below-average 24.3 million people
watched Tuesday's performance show, and Wednesday's results show brought in 25.4 million"
Ha, ha. The ratings are even worse than last year which everyone thought totally blew. P.S. I've seen some of S2 on the Idol rewind and have been unimpressed but tonight I saw the Top 5 do Neil Sedaka/60s tunes. It was 10x more entertaining than anything I've seen so far on S7. I can see why 4 of the 5 have made ok if nor megaplat careers in music.

This season has no trainwrecks in it. Even Kristy Lee Cook's badness pales in comparison to not only Sanjaya, but Carmen Rasmussen, Kelly Pickler and even
Haley Scarnato. As for the people I think of as being "Talented" - well, Porkchop's talented. He's just the victim of a twisted
relationship with his father, that's all. Brooke and David Cook are quite talented. Carly's talented. Annoying, but talented.
It's a talented season; it just doesn't have any really big, fun personalities in it. The last one left when Danny got booted. So we have a bunch of nice people who sing pretty. |

Porkchop's talented What I don't like about this season is that yes, it's talented, but there isn't anyone amazing. Every year there's always been that showstopper performer, and this year lacks it. They're all just good, and about six of the remaining nine have a good shot at possibly winning. This season is good for unpredictability, but the unpredictable factor is largely due to them all being on a relatively equal playing field in terms of talent. |

It seems odd to reflect that they really expected Carly and Michael to be the stars who would get all the buzz and the massive fan bases. They were to be our final two. David A. was not expected to be that huge. Neither was Cook. Funny how Carly and Michael kind of fizzled. It's almost a level playing field now that Archie went down just a trifle since his few mess-ups. I'm sure he'll still win though. I think it's a bit late for Carly or Michael to step up enough to overtake him completely. |

I can't believe people are disparaging Season 3. Sure it had some duds, but unlike the past few seasons that crew really had personality and charisma.
Heck, Jennifer Hudson had more talent than the past two seasons combined. Plus Season 3 gave us "Life with Fantasia!"
It also would have been a different story if they had let them play instruments then. Season 3 actually had a lot of musicians. Camille would have been the singer/songwriter chick that Brooke is now. Jasmalien is an accomplished pianist, and JPL can also play multiple instruments. (Several of them showed they can play stuff on tour) |

Fantasia is NOT entertaining. She's stupid and ugly and her voice sounds like a cross between Macy Gray and Donald Duck. The fact that she thinks she
sounds like Aretha or something (and the judges encouraged her to) is pathetic, not entertaining. So is her beating out real singers like Jennifer and Latoya.
The only good thing about her is that she inspired our group to do great things like "things more Ghetto than Mantasia," still my all-time favorite
thread here.

I still laugh at her guest performance on Season 4 around the Top 9 or so. There was this part towards the end of the song where she was literally shouting
something along the lines of "AHHHHHHHH OOHHHHH AHHHHHHHHHH" for like, fifteen seconds, and looked like she was popping out a Frenchie-sized kidney
stone.

I'm sorry for what I'm about to say, but I like Fantasia a lot. I think she's immensely talented and Summertime was a breathtaking performance.
Also, when I saw the AI3 concert, Fantasia was even better in person. Her voice was just so clear.

It's ok Pupa. Not all of us hate her. I was sad I didn't get to see her in TCP when I saw it. She's why I wanted to go. While I don't like her
post Idol CDs, I usually do enjoy her performances.
This season I think will produce more contestants with CDs than last season for sure. And while people say this isn't a good season, this board is VERY active this season. Way more than last season for sure. |

Awwwww, sorry you didn't get to see her, seaguy.
Amy Adams wasn't at the AI3 concert when I went. They didn't even acknowledge her. When the concert was over and everybody was getting up to leave, I stood up and screamed "WHERE'S AMY!?!?!?" People looked at me like "Amy who?" |

I'll always secretly admire Fantasia for the fact that she's batshit hilarious. Best winner reaction ever, suffocating Diana for like, two minutes when
Diana probably wanting to get the fuck out of there and punch something.
