Didja ever wonder why people waste so much time following these newfangled reality shows? I do. When I served as a war correspondent back in WW2, well..THAT was a reality show. Food known as shit on a shingle, the Japs had their hookers purposely infected with the clap so we soldiers had that burning pee-holes as yet another cross we had to bear. But we dealt with that reality and we liked it. Made us stronger.

Now this network is wrapping up yet another season of some show called 'Big Brother' . Silly name, I like Aldous Huxley's book better. Nevertheless, this show casts several various young people with questionable social skills and has them locked up in closed quarters for a few months. The Bataan Death March seemed a more pleasant alternative. But this show employs the Bosses wifey, so I usually clean out my litter box instead of watching this , then have a nice glass of warm milk.

Evidently, there's someone named "Ryno" and "Baller" . Two final houseguests vying for a half a million dollar prize. Is this what we fought wars for? Oh, I like the name baller. I have had this one since 1963.


It's a handy little utensil. I usually use it on cantaloupes, muskmelons and watermelon. About 3 times a year. Not sure if I got my money's worth with this thing.

But back to reality shows. If having to "suffer" the claustrophobic conditions and back biting from a few bums warrants a half a million dollar prize, then I've been severely underpaid for all of these years at CBS/Black Rock.

Is it too late to ask for reruns of All In The Family to be rebroadcast instead?
