In light of the fact Survivor loves to reward people who fly UTR, then you have to count Pappy in as one of the better ones. And he was a nice guy. Sorry to
all those who think he's a total knob. And he got one of the more unexpected eliminations in Survivor history (the purple rock is feared even to this day,
folks).
Not sure if he's retired from the bench or not. The murder trial he presided over was a few years ago. Very infamous one around here. It was two teenage girls who killed one of the girls' grandparents (her legal guardians) because the grandparents forbid their relationship. They ended up pleading guilty so they wouldn't fry but Pappy didn't cut them any slack. Actually he's a tough bird, which is why he lasted as long as he did. |

Paschal is the most overrated "nice guy" in the history of Survivor. Because quite simply, the guy is not nice at all. He was portrayed as the next
Rodger, thanks in part to all of his attempts to seem like the kindly older man, but really he's just an insensitive, intolerant jerk. He was more than
happy to accept 6th place until he up and decided he'd play self-righteous and allow more "deserving" people to go further. And then he later
decided those people weren't very deserving at all, and that he and Neleh should be in the Final 2 above anyone else. I'm fine with playing to get
ahead, but not when you maintain some facade of righteousness. And Paschal's very self-righteous, if nothing else. He's a judge, and he's
constantly judging other people. Plus, he's probably one of the more racist people to have been cast on this show, which is what made the final votes of
the game so intense. I hate that he was eliminated by the PROD, simply because everyone uses it to say his boot was unfair and that he didn't deserve to go
home. Sorry, but his boot was as fair as any other boot in the history of this game, and he deserved to go home more than the other three by that point.
And if you still don't believe the guy's a total asshole, remember this quote he gave in a court case he presided over back in Fayette County.
Two teenage lesbians had killed their grandparents so they could be together. After admitting to her crime, one of the girls was asked what her punishment
should be, to which she responded, "I think I should be dead." Judge Pappy's response? "Well, we both agree on that." Dick.

Try actually knowing something about the case before commenting on it sweetcheeks, or try living in the community where the murders happened. The grandparents were butchered like Charlie Manson on a happy day, and while the girls were lesbian the grandparents didn't disapprove because they were lesbian, they disapproved because the girls were doing drugs and stealing and getting in trouble together, which is the reason why one of these fucktard bitches was living with her grandparents in the first place, because Mom and Dad couldn't control her and more interested in their own getting high than in raising a kid. What Pappy said from the bench was what everyone was thinking, because if it had been two 16 year old boys who'd done it they would've been riding Old Sparky, and these two got off because they were girls. Quite frankly sentencing these two lovely creatures to prison was the most humane thing that could've been done, because in all honesty the community wanted them turned loose so they could be found hanging from the nearest tree within 24 hours, probably having to endure the same torture they subjected to the grandparents before they killed them. And maybe if they'd pretended they actually had a Dick between the two of them (since you're the one who used the word), they would've just sucked it up and waited another year until they turned 18 and they could've run off together. Then nobody would've died, nobody would be sitting in prison, etc. |
