Certain ballparks should not be renamed.
Wrigley, Fenway, Yankee (although in last year) and possibly Dodger Stadium. |

Oh you want to cite the Red Sox as an example, with the shitload of advertising and expansion they've loaded into Fenway in the last few years? Uh huh.
I still dig ya, Memy...but the ballpark stuff just doesn't matter in the long run. WINNING is what matters. The Cubs need to focus on that. |

I'm so excited about this team and I think it's going to be fun to watch them this year. I don't think we're going to run away with the

I was just about to chime in about the changes that have been done to Fenway alone since John Henry and Co have taken over the Sox.
1) Added Budweiser Pavilion and seats to right field 2) Sold naming rights to 406 Club (luxury level) to EMC (now EMC Pavilion) 3) Added green monster seats and selling them at an outrageous premium 4) Closed off Lansdowne Street and Yawkee Way and turned them into a tailgate area with concessions 5) Allowed advertising on the Green Monster 6) they've raised seat, beer and food prices every year, but people keep paying I would not be surprised if they sold corporate naming rights to the stadium. In fact, with the Yankees building another stadium, I expect them to become Reebok Field at Fenway Park (or some locally based company) in order to "be able to compete with the Evil Empire's massive revenue stream" in the next couple of years. Oh, and on top of having a ton of money, they've also developed one of the top 5 farm systems in the league. While it may be boring for other cities, get used to the Sox winning.
