Hey StarRider, I've got an extra ticket to Thursday's game. Can you make it?

If i can make it there i can make it anywhere.
Oh so tempting. I could actually pull that off. |

Oh my God. If Fuku figured it out for the stretch run, that would be amazing.

I don't know if I should tell you this Sol, but allegedly Lou worked with Fukodome on his swing on Sunday.

Oh, I'm aware. Today may have been an anomoly just because the Cubs were teeing off on the Bucs today as a whole. But it's definitely a step in the
right direction.
Also good to see Lilly pitching better the last couple of months. |

Hey Sol,
Do you want me to get you the "I have a Hard On for Harden" t-shirt or not? I might reconsider Fukudome being my homie after the past two games. |

OH I would wear that one with pride, WB. :) When's your next home game?
A playoff rotation of Harden, Demp, Z, and Lilly makes me wet myself a little bit. Who would have thought that Z would be our third best pitcher this year, especially considering the great season he's been having? 31 GAMES OVER .500!!! |

I'm going Saturday against the Phillies, Sol. My next after that isn't until the last home stretch on Sept. 16&17 against the Brewers and Sept.
19&21(last regular season home game) against the Cards. I'll be in Vegas next week for the Astros series at Wrigley. It'll be the only home series
this year that I haven't attended at least one game. I'd better win big in Vegas to make up for it!
I've seen five of Dempster's wins this season and only one loss- the storm interrupted game. He's been great. I think my nephew might get me the Harden T-shirt for my birthday next week, though I told him I'd never wear it in public. His fiance sometimes wears a "I'd like to get to 2nd base with Mark DeRosa" t-shirt. She almost got into a fight with a Crads fan two weeks ago. I pretend I don't know her when we go to games. |

I heard on the radio this morning that had Brian Roberts been traded to the White Sox at the deadline, which almost happened, game .5 of the 1.5 Header could
have potentially been the first time that a player started a game on 1 team and ended it on the other.

Are you Cub fans ready for this weekend's preview of the NLCS?

strange scheduling...
Mets Sillies only 2 games? But the real head scratcher is Yankees Red Sox. Sox invade Yankee Stadium for the final time tonight. Yankees Red Sox have been joined at the hip since the Babe was traded to the Yankees. Yankee Stadium opened with Babe homering against, yup, the Red Sox. The final home series of Yankee Stadium should have been Red Sox in late September. Would have been perfect symmetry. MLB dropped the ball here. |

The game is being televised on ESPN of course. I know of at least five guys here that will not be watching that particular game though.

Iron Mike Pelfrey continues to impress. He's really been the Mets savior this season. I expected King Johan to perform at a high level but even the most
optimistic Mets fan didn't expect Pelfrey to be on pace for 15+ wins and have an under 4 ERA in his second year as a starter.
Mets and Phillies play another series with the first place on the line. We all know who prevailed the last time these two teams met for NL East supremacy,
don't we? Delgado's double off J.C. is still vivid in my mind.
Since the Mets never hit the garbage that Moyer throws to the plate, I foresee the Phillies taking tonight's game and the Mets winning tomorrow night
with God on the mound and yours truly in attendance. On the way home from work today, I plan on purchasing a gas mask to combat the stench from all those
Philadelphia sweathogs. Yeah, they're not very high on personal hygiene. LOL

I heard on the radio this morning that had Brian Roberts been traded to the White Sox at the deadline, which almost happened, game .5 of the 1.5 Header could have potentially been the first time that a player started a game on 1 team and ended it on the other. I don't remember who or when but there was once a player who played a day game, got traded, flew to his new club, and played in their night game, and got a hit (maybe even a HR) in both stadiums. It's in one of my many useless information books that I'm too lazy to find. I remember Mientkiewicz was traded to the Red Sox while Boston was in town so he just switched dugouts overnight. Roberts would have been awesome. |

I remember that too Anti, and i don't think it was all that long either.
twisted, gas masks are readily available in New York then, no? I see you're already laying the groundwork for your concession speech later next month. And yes, we all remember who came out ahead last time when the division title was at stake. ssts. Oh and the Dodgers didn't score as a result of good pitching. yw. |
