Being that he pitched for an AL team, your comment is entirely unsurprising.
Hopefully he'll get an AB at some point so the Mets can have Reyes, Reyes, Reyes due up in an inning.

When refering to MLB as a whole, its almst always refered to as "the league". By whom? I've never referred to MLB that way. Neither has anyone I know, in person or here in cesspool land (other than by mistake or by dumbasses). I've never seen it in print that way, and I've never heard a broadcaster, tv or radio, make that reference. In fact, most journalists go out of their way to point out that there are not only two leagues, but that one (the AL) is vastly superior to the other (the NL). Well for the last few years they have, anyway. So come up with a few actual, referenced examples, Yid. Then I might believe your statement. |

He had a few DL stints so TB probably felt he was unreliable. RP's are too unpredictable (see Lidge) so who knows what to expect from him. After signing
"we all live in Ayala submarine" and now Reyes, at least Omar is trying to upgrade the pen & not standing around w/ his dick in his hand
like he did last season.
Judging by his avi, it appears StarRider has found religion. I knew it was just matter of time so let me be the first to say.......welcome to the Church of
Johan!

I spent the first 11 years of my life in Flushing. True story. btw- lol @ Chipper being asked how he felt about Shea being torn down and saying: "I'm the one person who will be sad to see the place go."

ColbyRulesAll wrote:What bubble are you living in that you have NEVER heard Major League Baseball referred to as "the league"? Sure, sometimes a journalist or broadcaster will say "in all of baseball" to speak of both leagues, but sometimes you will hear the phrase, "the league," to reference both leagues. What you will never hear is that someone leads the leagueS in something because it's Major League Baseball not Major LeagueS Baseball. Also, because the league can mean all of MLB, the NL or the AL in many cases I will hear an announcer reference the NL as the senior circuit or the AL as the junior circuit. Since you requested examples as evidence of your arrogant stupidity and to embarrass you further I put about ten minutes of google work into finding... 1. If you read the wikipedia entry for Major League Baseball you will find MLB referred to as "the league" in the third paragraph. (Yes, later on in the entry "the league" is also used to describe the NL and AL as individual entities, which is probably confusing only for you) If using MLB and "the league" interchangably is such a crazy thing to do, why hasn't anyone corrected this? 2. A description of the NY Times baseball blog refers to MLB as "the league": The New York Times reporters Tyler Kepner, Ben Shpigel and Jack Curry, along with their Times colleagues, will bring baseball fans inside the Yankees and Mets clubhouses. They'll blog about the latest news and best stories unfolding this season in the Bronx, in Queens and around the league. Don't you think if referring to the MLB as "the league" was such a weird thing to do that they would have had a frenzy of readers pleading with them to correct their error? 3. From an MLB.com article about Reyes: And it comes three days after the Mets acquired reliever Luis Ayala from the Nationals for infielder Anderson Hernandez, bolstering a bullpen that ranks near the bottom of the league. There is no first reference to the National League or the NL in the article to reflect that the Mets have one of the worst bullpens in ALL OF BASEBALL, not just the National League. If referring to all of MLB as "the league" is so crazy, why is MLB.com doing it? |

Nice to see that Illinois folks are getting along famously.

Btw, Memy...you may want to consider putting that much effort into your fantasy football teams that you sign up for and forget about, ending up with players
not on any NFL roster.
Da rest of youse...fuggoff. |

But it's too bad if you're really pissed off. And here I even worked in that Mets bullpen joke so everyone could have a chuckle. Oh well. Go Bears! |
