Of course, sig forgot to mention that he won't be sporting any Phillies attire tonight since he's too afraid of getting his ass beat like a fat kid stealing lunches. Have fun and make sure you BOW when King Johan walks out to the mound :) i actually wore a phillies tshirt tonight (and will be wearing one tomorrow too.) the thing is i look absolutely terrible in red so they are both blue with the logo across the chest. i was in the front row of the upper deck so when i turned around to stretch in like the third inning this kid was like OH FUCK THIS KIDS A FUCKING PHILLIES FAN I THOUGHT IT WAS METS BLUE. it was hilarious. What an ugly dump lol (this is right before the first pitch) Joe Blanton's first pitch in Philly red. Don't mess with the stirrups Weeeeeeeee I'm gonna go 0-5 woohoo. OH NOEZ! WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?! OUR BULLPEN SUCKS! THEY DIDN'T TEACH US THIS IN GANGSTA SCHOOL! lolololol this is more beautiful than any slutty female met fan kthxletsgetemtomorrow!

Right now, the Cubs look almost exactly like the White Sox did early on. The starting pitching has been fantastic, however, the offense has given them nothing in return. Theres no question in my mind that the offense will come out of this funk. The only question is, how far will they let the Brewers and/or Cardinals run before they do. If they do, more power to them. It really doesnt matter if we make the playoffs as the division winner or the Wild Card. And if the Cubs do make the playoffs, I am confident that they can make it pretty far. Zambrano/Harden can match pretty much any 1-2 punch out there, and there arent a lot of 3-4s that can match Dempster and Lilly. Wed just need to find a way to finally solve old man Johnson, but he'll probably be be broken by then anyway. Dont get me wrong, I have all the respct in the world for him. In fact, I think I still have his 1973 rookie card in a shoe box somewhere.

Hall seems to have reestablished himself. Although he has had some really ugly at bats, he seems to be able to find something in key situations (at least lately) The Sabathia trade seems to have energized this team that the upper management is serious about making a run. The trade for Rhoads sent another message to the team, but perhaps mostly to Rickie. Rickie Weeks play has been much better. After his horrendous defense the other night, last night he comes back and makes plays that were spectacular. And finally, I tip my hat to Ned Yost. He has grown as a manager in the following ways: His lineup card has been pretty consistent. His managing of the bullpen has been outstanding, with a few exceptions, and even though he doesn't use the short game enough, he seems to have the confidence of his players. This team, as it stands now, is not a finished product. We still have to learn better plate discipline and our defense can get better. Our bullpen can, should, and probably will be refined before it's all over. The bottom line however is that the team is playing like a championship caliber team. They're fun to watch, and I think a message has been clearly sent to the rest of the league that we don't quit and the game isn't over until the final out is made.

Start printing those WS tickets! With Wagner not available and Johan throwing 105 pitches (omg he threw over 100 pitches, take him out stat!), why Manuel decided not to let Santana start the 9th is beyond comprehension. He's the ace of your staff and you're paying him 23M a year. My God man, let Johan try to finish the game. Has Manuel not seen the way the Mets pen has performed against the Phillies over the last year? You don't use the pen unless it's absolutely necessary. I like Gangsta Jerry and he's done a fine job since taking over but he pulled a Willie last night. DeBrun nailed it w/ his previous post. To be fair, the bullpen deserves plenty of blame as well for not being able to hold a 3 run lead against the weaker part of the Phillies lineup. Not to mention that fat tub of shit third base coach who sent Chavez home twice w/ none out & the heart of the order coming up. Speaking of Endy, I'm still trying to figure out his defensive positioning on that Taguchi fly ball. I GUARANTEE you that every single Mets fan watching knew Taguchi would get a hit. It's unreal how Taguchi would probably get cut from 85% of the JV baseball teams in North America and yet he looks like Joe DiMaggio when facing the Mets. Unreal. Hell, I'm surprised he didn't hit a grand slam. Anyway, if Wagner was available, the Mets win that game. Period. End of story. Before a Phillies fan has a chance to respond, Wagner has never blown a 3 run lead vs Philly. He picked the wrong time to be sidelined but injuries are a part of sports. Oh well, it's just one game. Frankly, I'd rather choke away a 5-2 lead in the 9th than choke away a 7.5 lead in a little over a month to a Mets team that isn't even at full strength. If I recall, the last time the Mets lost a game that Santana started vs Philly, they rebounded quite nicely by going on a 10 game winning streak. Kudos to Johan for a third straight dominating start against the Phillies. I guess they haven't "figured him out" yet

I never thought I'd say this but Hall has been money in a number of their games recently. Gotta stick with the guy that is on fiyah! Just when it couldn't get any funnier, they did a radio play back of the Phillies ninth inning just for my personal amusement. I really glad we did come back though because i didn't want to have to moan about the non call on Delgado's check swing that led to two gift wrapped Met runs.

Coming from you, this shouldn't surprise me. At all. I knew you couldn't go a day without humiliating yourself. But since we're discussing the umpires, you forgot to mention Sanchez's 2-2 pitch to Werth in the 9th which was somehow called a ball. It does amuse me watching a Phillies fan talk about gift wrapping when the Mets bullpen (and their managers) have handed the Phillies one game after another on a silver platter over the last 13 months. Not to mention gift wrapping a division title. I can't blame you for being deliriously happy though. Hell, if my team won and improved to 4-7 against a division rival, I'd be doing backflips too.
