Unfortunately this team hits too many home runs. And I believe that will cost them in the end. Playoff caliber teams know how to manufacture runs when needed.

Good Morning OTers...
Saw Billy Joel at Shea night..was anyone else there? Well he was fantastic, even though he's a Yankee fan! Paid real homage to Shea, sang several Beatle Songs, had four guest stars, Tony Bennett, Don Henley, John Mayer and John Mellencamp. Was on stage for 3 1/2 hours. When he did Only the Good Die Young and It's Still Rock and Roll to Me, I thought the upper deck was going to fall down, it was actually shaking, scary. Got home at 2 a.m. and boy was I wired. |

More proof Shea is a magnet for aging overpriced talent.

StarRider wrote: So I guess StarRider you think Paul McCartney, ALL the Stones, Elton John are all OLD and OVERPRICED. LOL that's funny. Oh I forgot, you're a fan of the Jonas Brothers! Young and cute, betcha would love to do one of them from behind.

The Stones formed 46 years ago, the Beatles broke up 38 years ago, and Elton John has been wearing women's clothing for close to 60 years.

That's funny. When I woke up, I had the song "We Didn't Start the Fire" stuck in my head.
You're a lucky woman, pam. Billy Joel kicks ass. |

I'll be laughing when they come up two games short again this year.

Yanks sign Richie Sexson, who was cut from the Seattle Mariners. So one of the worst teams in baseball cuts a guy who was coming off one of his worst years in
2007 and the Yanks snatch him up? Brilliant!!

He's just a reclamation project. It's not a bad move, really. They don't have to give him substantial playing time. If he returns to how he was
circa '04, it's a great move. If not, they've probably lost very little by picking him up.

As the second half of the season begins, Mets try to extend their winning streak to 10 and move into first place with a win.

Blanton is so bad i actually took the time to learn how to drop him off my fantasy roster earlier this year.
Yea, that bad. eta 5-12 with a five era His WHIP is great though. I guess it's tough to walk a guy when they are too busy shelling you.

i guess all that talk about whose starting vs the mets meant jack now
ETA They gave up second baseman Adrian Cardenas, pitcher Josh Outman and outfielder Matthew Spencer. The only one who I've even heard of is Cardenas and he kinda plays Utley's position so he's useless anyways. Not nearly as bad as I was expecting.
