I think its unfair to say now after the fact that that Kevin and Drew should not have been on the show. After their first season they did deserve their spot.
Cause you know had they not been casted people would have bitched about it. However all Uchenna/Joyce, Danielle/Eric, David/Mary should not have been casted. I
was happy to see JVJ casted cause they are an "oldie but goodie" however i think they know someone behind the scenes that got them on and i
didn't like when i heard that. There also should have been 12 teams all together not 11.

Jon Vito and Jill were an alternate.
Kelly and Jon of TAR4 were supposed to be on the show but they dropped out on the last minute, and that's how JVJ got on. Uchenna/Joyce probably would not have been cast if it weren't for Meredith's (Gretchen's teammate in TAR7) heart condition. |

Since were in the topic of casting, is there any truth to the rumor Dave and Lori from TAR9 were replaced? |

you forgot Christo @ Johannesburg airport, and the lady Charla & Mirna No. The man hired by Charla & Mirna found a flights to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. They were inside the OR Tambo International Airport (formerly
Johannesburg International Airport) in Johannesburg.

I think they casted the teams based on: how extraordinarily memorable (in person) they are: Kevin & Drew, Oswald & Danny, Charla & Mirna how extraordinarily memorable (in competitiveness) they are: Joe & Bill, Teri & Ian, Rob & Amber, Uchenna & Joyce, Dustin & Kandice changed relationships: Eric & Danielle, John Vito & Jill, Rob & Amber sorry didn't watch all 10 seasons prior the All-Stars so this is just my opinion.. |

thrown in for reasons that have nothing to do with rational thought or good sense. And that casting snafu basically destroyed TAR all stars.
I think Uchenna & Joyce only got in because of the rivalry vs Romber and the need for one token black team. Yes, TAR does seem to have a quota that went into effect starting during TAR4. (Yes, two teams on TAR10 but one was cast mainly to be the token "Muslims" team more than black guys). No more than one black team per season. Sucks. Anyway had U/J NOT excepted than maybe Chip & Kim would have been asked. But because they did then Chip & Kim were doomed by a quota system so I don't mind so much Chip's outburst even though it screwed him up even more with CBS. Now Frank & Margarita were apparently asked too so I don't know if they were asked before U/J and when they said no then U/J were asked. Or if TAR actually considered letting one more black team on and breaking this ridiculously racist quota system they have going. JVJ were the stand-by alternate for a "young couples" team slot so when Kelly & Jon backed out at the last minute then JVJ were ready to go at a moment's notice and went. Kelly & Jon, along with Romber and the Guidos and maybe Ian and certainly Eric would have been the more underhanded, TAR all star villains in TPTB eyes which you need if you are going to cast a lot of "beloved" teams like Kevin & Drew, the Chas and Mary & David. And TAR villains can be rooted for and even liked by some viewers so if say Romber were villains for some but "heroes" to others then they still had K/J and Ian and the Guidos and Eric etc to be villains for those viewers. The TAR villains for all stars were more a pool of possibilities where viewers could pick and choose. Didn't work out that way of course. The Guidos were on their best most boring behavior this time. Drew's back made him more cranky than beloved. Ian mostly didn't do anything except to screw up his rep by falsely accusing the Chas of ticket shenanigans. Mary & David didn't stand out on an all stars cast. Uchenna & Joyce were totally under the radar as they were in their season minus one hair cut and their one moment of glory at the very end. For me only Oswald & Danny and Charla & Mirna delivered and made all stars worth the watch. Which is why an all stars never really works. Only Charla & Mirna remained entertainment gold and totally hilarious and only Oswald & Danny remained entertainment gold and "beloved." Most all the others took a big hit except maybe the queenies for some of you but which I just ignored and tuned out. Mary & David and Uchenna & Joyce were only background. JVJ had a cup of coffee and left. The rest just didn't deliver.
