Cook certainly has staying power. His album isn't perfect but it isn't as bad as everyone says. I personally think it's great but not as good as his indie effort "Analog Heart".

He is already approaching 900,000 just with Light On. He has a few songs on the album that can cetainly get the album to the 2 mil mark in sales.

I predict Cook will go double platinum. I think his voice and style are really popular with an older demographic (mainly women) that isn't necessarily YouTubing the videos, requesting the songs on t.v./radio and have enough money to shell out for music they really like. His songs might not necessarily be multi platinum singles but his album will be steady and sales will continue to flow through. Least that's my opinion. If I'm wrong, meh whatever but I have a huntch the album will continue to sell well, with dips here and there.

Also, the demographic Cook appeals to aren't all ITunes friendly and don't necessarily download songs and IPod and all that. That group would most likely drop the Cook album in their Wal-Mart shopping trip with the kids and listen to it in the car. Apparently the largest chunk of his album sales come from Wal-Mart. Not suprised.

Jordin's market are all tweens and teens who live on ITunes and are more likely to splurge on singles to put on their IPod to listen to. They are more likely not to want the album but just her hits. Hence, the singles success and less with album.

Carrie is in the middle. Appeals to the kiddies and also the demographic that will just pick up the whole album on their way to Wal-Mart. She has success on both fronts. Plus it's country and their fans are usually hardcore.
