I just think it comes down to numbers. I'm sure Archuleta's fans are hardcore and quite possibly have bought multiple copies of his album, but Cook won
AI by 12 million votes, I think it stands to reason that he just has a larger fanbase. Plus it's all about demographics, I'm quite sure Archie's
fanbase consists of more of the age groups who are going to be requesting a song a billion times at their local station.

I think everyone here is crazy to think that Cook or Archie have/or will match Jordin's success. Without any major hits neither will rank as high as her in
the year-end charts or be nominated for any awards. Right now Cook got lucky with TOML, but will that be his biggest hit? And can Archie get a top 10 in POP?
It doesn't matter how much you sell(Clay anyone) no one outside of idol will care or remember in a few years.

I agree with you Latingirl about singles. Plenty of people care about Kelly Clarkson (more than any David so far). Her new single is getting good buzz.

Cook certainly has staying power. His album isn't perfect but it isn't as bad as everyone says. I personally think it's great but not as good
as his indie effort "Analog Heart".
Jordin's market are all tweens and teens who live on ITunes and are more likely to splurge on singles to put on their IPod to listen to. They are more likely not to want the album but just her hits. Hence, the singles success and less with album. Carrie is in the middle. Appeals to the kiddies and also the demographic that will just pick up the whole album on their way to Wal-Mart. She has success on both fronts. Plus it's country and their fans are usually hardcore.

Apparently the largest chunk of his album sales come from Wal-Mart. Not suprised.35% of sales of DCTR come from Wal-Mart. Trust me on this information. It came straight from the Wally's mouth. So to speak. |

On top of being one of the biggest retailers in North America I'm sure it helped that Wal-Mart offered an exclusive bonus track with purchase of the CD
there.

Was "No Air" not on Jordin's album?

He has a few songs on the album that can cetainly get the album to the 2 mil mark in sales.Which songs? Cuz there's not a single hit on that album IMO. |

I'm just making the assumption based on the quality of his voice and the type of music (although it's a bit more generic than his indie stuff) he is
making that is popular today (Nickleback for ex).
