No, that's just a fact.
We can say lots of other complimentary things about it too since it's not a piece of shit. It sounds wonderful for example, whereas "Crush" doesn't really show David A's real vocal skill. Archie is an excellent singer, there's no denying that even if you don't like him. The main problem with his single besides it having no connection to him whatsoever and not reflecting who he's said he'd like to be as an artist is that it doesn't really showcase his voice. He just sings it, and it's a just a bubblegummy pop piece of crap to attract tweens. Even a really big (but boring) adult contemporary kind of ballad would have been better. It doesn't reflect what he did on the show. "Light On" on the other hand showcases what is great about Cook's voice and isn't just a piece of crap to cater to tweens. |

I think Cook has a decent rock voice (not exceptional) but I think Light On doesn't showcase it at all. So I think it's even more generic than Crush
which as least uses the Archie persona. Honestly, I liked the rainbow song (which was lame) more than this and that's incredible.

If I heard this on the radio, I wouldn't know it was Cook. Relax Cookie fans, I'm sure it'll be a hit. It sounds like Daughtry/Nickelback/generic
others, etc. so it'll do fine.

"Crush" showcases Archie's persona? What alternate universe do you live in? "Crush" goes against everything we know about David A and things he's said himself. It has no relation to him whatsover and doesn't at all showcase his persona. |
