Is this a water challenge?

Their hair does look dampish, but it rains all the time.
A barefooted person is sitting up on a purple thing behind the thrower. So whatever their role is, they don't think it requires shoes. Calling in the range to the target? Swimming? Being carried on something? Falling into a carnival dunk tank?

There is a new PIP promo that shows someone diving, there is also a wet Amanda in the CBS press shots...so a possible water-land challenge.

This diving? It was in one of the earlier promos that talked about the shark, so I was thinking it was them fishing around camp. A spearing challenge would be
interesting. Maybe BrubBrub Up, Brub Brub Down is throwing things in the water, then going out to get them.

They won fishing gear in ep 2. I still think that's a little long to be a spear and Ozzy wouldn't hold it like that.

Agree, looks more like he is following a rope down.

Are yall sure it's Ozzy? As in, would the challenge involve the same person throwing and rope-following?
If I remember right, Mikey said in a post-game interview that Joel couldn't swim. If the immunity challenge required every team member to be in the water, that sure as heck would be a good rationalization to get him booted. |

A Stone's Throw | ||
|
Squinting at the Challenge Board I can see they rehearse a challenge called "A Stone's Throw" on the day after the switch. Thinking these are
pics of that which would make it the IC. Since they also rehearsed "Cat and Mouse" that day, I think that is the RC for next time (episode 6).
So for this episode RC: "Build it up, Break it down"; IC "A Stone's Throw". Also agree that it looks like Ozzy in the water following a rope down. |

"Build it up Break it Down" challenge in the Palau was land and water based. Contestants swam out for bundles of sticks to cover the chest knoted
with rope containing the tribal flag which needed to be removed and raised to win the challenge. This could be the same concept with a twist. Knoted chest
under water needs to be unknoted, brought back to shore etc.............

I agree that those pics seem to belong in challenge appropriately titled 'A Stones Throw', which is what we have as the IC for this episode on the MUMP
challenge white board.

Are those the same structures as in the Cook Islands challenge where all the tribe members had to be above the top rung?

Build It up, Break It Down is a challenge in ep 6. This episode has Cat and Mouse and the throwing one, I believe.

eps 6: RC: build it up, break it down - version of palau challenge, but now with someone inside the cage?

Ok, so this appears to be throwing stones at something ... what? And why does a person need to sit up high beind them? JP doesn't usually go barefoot, so
I'm guessing it's not him.
ETA: Tiles maybe ... they usually do that type of challenge at the individual point to show the pecking order of the tribemates (evil SEG). Why are Ami and Cirie looking in a different direction than where Ozzy is throwing ... hmmm there's more to this ... we need more vid caps. Do you hear that CBS? Give us more vid caps of this challenge today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing Ozzy starts throwing is the challenges - Loser!

I think Ami is looking in the same direction Joel is throwing. So maybe they are checking out how the other team is
doing, then looking at how their own teamates are doing.
From the photos of the leftover equipment at filmpalau, the chair is in maybe 8 feet of water, and the throwers and Ami and Cirie must be standing on a platform or dock. (It looks stable from the video, not something that is moving with the water.) There's got to be some other segment to this challenge that actually involves the water, cause otherwise you could throw things on land. I was kinda hoping the tower structure things were for one of those challenges where everyone has to balance on the top. I like those - a simple concept, but oh so entertaining with teams who work well or poorly together. |

That's my take too birdlady. They must be on some platform on the water,
throwing stones at something they can see. Ozzy looks to be holding a natural stone and not something they would have to recover from the water later. No
idea of the purpose of the person on the raised platform behind them, nor of the image of Ozzy (from his build and swimsuit) following a rope down.
There is just not enough info to analyze the challenge itself, but it does seem to
mean that Jonathan is still there for the IC.
