THE venom spewed by the "Real Housewives of New York City" at their highly rated two-part reunion barely settled before the casting call went out today for possible replacements for next season.

The show has quietly begun negotiating with the six New York women for a third season that could start shooting by late summer.

But Bravo officials say there could be changes in the show next season. Viewers who've grown accustomed to the backstabbing sisterhood -- Bethenny Frankel, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, "Countess" LuAnn de Lesseps, Alex McCord, Ramona Singer and Jill Zarin -- may be in for a shock.

"The show is like a baseball team," said one insider. "No one is irreplacable."

Money is at the heart of the matter -- and excessive demands appear to be the biggest potential deal breaker.

The Housewives received the loveliest of raises last season, about $50,000 per episode, up from a measly $5,000, according to reports.

It is still possible that all six women could be back next season.

But if talks fail with any one of the cast, the network says it wants to be ready with a new Housewife.

"We are always looking for new and interesting characters," a Bravo spokeswoman said.

"Are you a woman living in one of the most exclusive areas of New York who has to juggle their [sic] career, home life, and a jam-packed social calendar full of charity fund-raising galas, Hampton parties and nights on the New York social scene?" reads the casting notice.

"Looking for women with dynamic personalities who think they have what it takes to be the next Housewife!"

The network has started looking too for potential cast members for a "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," though no decision has been made to go ahead with a second California version of the hit series.
