Comment from Padma Time: March 22, 2008, 8:20 pm The Real Housewives NEW YORK edition… Wow. I am totally addicted to BRAVO tv period. You name it, I'll watch it. Project Runway, Make Me a Supermodel, Top Chef, Top Design, Real Housewives, Millionaire Matchmaker, Blow Out, Work Out, etc. Now back to the issue at hand. I was born in Manhattan and lived there for a short time before moving out to Los Angeles. I did, however, go back to NYC for school and ended up staying there after graduating. In all the years I was in NYC, I never witnessed such moronic behavior than what they show on the Real Housewives NYC. Seriously, here's the rundown: Bethenny - She's a reality show media whore. She got FIRED on the Martha Stewart The Apprentice show. Now she's peddling herself on Bravo. I did read in the NY Post last week that she actually ended up getting a contract for her own show. So hopefully she will find some confidence and dump that loser boyfriend of hers and find someone that actually wants to marry her and settle down with her for keeps. The episode in which her boyfriend doesn't want to talk about moving in together was so pathetic. I mean, clearly, they are not going to get married. He shows no support towards her and is very cold. Bethenny has such low self esteem and just puts up with it. Granted, she isn't pretty and does remind me of a cocker spaniel, but hey, at least she's down to Earth! Jill - I actually think Jill is very smart and sincere. It's just a shame that she seeks approval from people that she shouldn't really give a damn about. I mean, the cooking party episode just made her look like an immature highschool girl that was upset because she wasn't invited to hang out with the "cool crowd." Her husband seems nice, but he doesn't give a damn about his stepdaughter, Ally. By the same token, Ally, needs to grow up and face the issues at hand too. I mean, was her father super short and overweight? All the money in the world is NOT going to make her get taller and/or lose the pudgy fat appearance that she was born with from day one. I mean, granted she claims to have lost 11 pounds at the overpriced detox center. What they fail to teach children and everyone else that has a weight problem is that if you keep your mouth SHUT and refrain from stuffing your mouth with food, then you wont keep getting fatter. If Ally is this short and overweight at 14, can you really see the growing pains she is going to face when she get older? Can we all say ANOREXIA and/or BULIMIA out loud? Which reminds me, how sad was it when Jill had to ask Bobby if her daughter could go to detox and then when they had the scene in which Ally goes to thank Bobby he diverts his nervousness by mentioning how cute the little girl in the room was; by the way, who was the little girl? Was it the housekeeper with the wig's child??? Jill's gay husband Brad is an older than dirt bitchy queen. I mean, how tacky and old is he? Can we say Stanford from Sex and the City at 80? Alex - Alex is just disgustingly gross in every sense of the word. Her entire mouth is jacked and she needs major dental work. Her hair is totally overprocessed and needs a total makeover. Her equally fugly husband whom she met on some international desperate matchmaking website reminds me of the beast from the show Beauty and the Beast. I mean, could that man be any uglier? Likewise, how pretentious are they? They live in Brokeland (oops, I mean Brooklyn). How bridge and tunnel is that? Clearly they can't run with the same circles as the other housewives. I can't believe they think they have style and class. Alex is from a farm in Kansas. I guess when you come from nothing and have your only hope of leaving Kansas is by a tornado or having to sleep with Simon, youre only left with two equally bad choices. I give it a year before Alex finds her ugly husband hitting on the au pair. Ramona - Ramona is hilarious. I think it's great that she is one of the few working women that has her own business. I just hope their daughter Avery continues to have a normal childhood without witnessing her mom act like a hoochie too often. I mean, Ramona needs to cool it down and stop trying to be the slut of the Hamptons. And her fake blonde hair isn't looking good right now, she needs to go darker and more natural. I loved the episode when she takes her daughter to Wilhelmina modeling agency. Clearly as cute as Avery might seem, she will never, ever be a model. So that is clearly the reason Ramona talks about her doing commercials. Who in their right mind would want to hire that little bug eyed girl? It's like she has the worst features from both of her folks. It reminds me of how Tori Spelling turned out. LuAnn - She is so pretty, and I thought she was going to be the most down to Earth, but the whole Count/Countess naming was just too tacky. And did you all see the Count? He's got one foot in the grave. Talk about old sugar daddy. Her kids are cute and seem to be growing up normal. But give it a rest LuAnn! Why didnt anyone mention the "Countess" going out with her twenty something best friend?. Whats up with that?. She must really have nothing to do, or really be running away from responsibility like a child. Her home is gross, for a count and countess (granted you dont get much in New York city) but I expect more from them. Claiming to haven given the statue of Liberty to the U.S. . Why isn't she screaming French only to her kids?. I hated the way she warmed to Alex. The suburbs yech, the teeth ewwwwwww!!!. Did someone say "extraction"?. And that husband of hers, he makes my skin crawl. " I have been invited to a showwww", do you know the designer?, is it a good one?". If she says "I have been invited to a show, and I have been invited to girls night out". Why does he look so crushed?. Did you see his face?. Does he have friends?. Did you see his reaction to being called gay?. OMG I can go on for hours. They do not represent New York natives okay!!. Bethany…She is an anorexic big jawed, breast enhancement, tummy tucked idiot. She has such an attitude and a drinking problem, get over yourself. Countess get home clean up your home and hire a damn decorater. Ramona, what can I say except You were dead on balls accurate with your scalping of simon last week. Other than that wear some clothes and please keep your big mouth shut. Jill stop spending that mans money, I am afraid there wont be anymore. But you are my favorite, but those friends are like holes in the pocket and that suit (the gray one) you have a great body show it off and throw that suit and your gay husband out. He has no style sense. Your daughter needs a better therapist, she is totally bent cant stand up straight and seems so insecure. She is a beautiful girl bring it out of her. I like "Mario" the best how can he put up with his wife?. Well life is stranger than fiction. Did you see the shots of the interior of their house? I laughed so hard at Bethenny's comments about the state of A & S's house. They vacation (off-season) at St. Barth's, spend thousands in clothes, pay $10k for an opening night at the Opera, but their house, which is in Brooklyn, is in disrepair. How can they allow their kids to live in such a hazzard? This is typical of those families who try to keep up with the Jones'. Stop pretending A & S! Look in the mirror and see yourselves for who you are. As for the rest of the housewives, your comments from me are to follow. Jill is a beautiful woman and so is her daughter. She has such a pretty, sweet face and smile, and absolutely gorgeous hair. She is ONLY 14 and just going through her puberty years. Ramona definitely has issues going back to her childhood, and also maybe having problems facing getting older, and possibly in her marriage, but I feel like people could comment in a more effective, HELPFUL way. What is gained by insulting someones physicality? Not a single one of us can change our DNA! AND REMEMBER : Her daughter will be reading these posts everywhere. Would you want your comments to be responsible for destroying that dear little girl? Everyone questions why Bethany is on the show? Well for all you OC fans, don't you remember that Jo was also a single younger woman? And I again cannot believe the insults here. Bethany is a stunning. sexy, hardworking, sensitive woman! If anyone can find fault with her then you must be envious! She is also very kind, straight forward, and empathetic. She has shared with the viewers her sad childhood, and the problems it has caused her in forming relationships. My God, give her a break! I hope ALL of her dreams and goals come true! And for the Countess? She is definitely stunning. I was surprised when she said she didn't do well in the modeling field. She presents herself usually with pristine etiquette, but I too was offended by her problems with "introductions". But, as to the comments on her children. They are both wonderful. Someone remarked on her daughters eating "style", please! All children can be gross. And break dancing is not gay. that little boy is crying out for the companionship and affections of his mother/parents. The one message that I would give to LuAnn, is to curtail all of her nights out. Her children desperately want her attention. In just a few short years, they won't want to even be around her. Well, as far as Alec and Simon, I will just remind everyone, if you have nothing nice to say, then say NOTHING! Please think about your words before you post them, because once you hit the submit button, you cannot take it back. BE KIND! The only reason they did this show was because they believed there was something in it for them. And, well…you take the good with the bad. The almost universal dislike of Alex and Simon tells me that people don't like phonies, and they dislike unrepentant phonies even more. I'll meet you halfway and say that Jill is mostly enjoyable, and Bethanny and Luann have some redeeming value. This was enough to buy the townhouse fixer upper in Brooklyn. This is not a huge amount for NYC but it OK/ They can afford some luxiries not all. It seems they choose to spend their money on vacations abroad and clothing and charity tickets and a good private school. This means they have nothing left to fix up the house. If they had real money they would hire someone and it would be done in a couple of weeks. Also Ikea furniture. They cannot compete with Jill or Ramona with their houses in the Hamptons. Those houses are worth, I dont know 15 million? They go to st barts on the off season. The pick the pricey clothes to impress. They are not rich but upper middle class trying to be rich.

That mess of a house is trailer tore up, and they have some shit furniture. I have better shit than they do. They poo-poo'd the Hamptons cause they don't have a house there - cant afford it. So they go to St Barts and stay comped at a hotel his company owns. The only spend cash on stuff people can see, and are most likely in a lot of debt. and they need to wash their children. Ramona is a bitch - and likely her husband has visited every vay-jay in Suffolk County. She'll wake up one night to see that kid standing over her with a butcher knife. Liked Jill & Luann actually, even if they are a bit shallow. Bethenny was annoying, but the kind you can just tune out and walk away from. I'm going to a lovely charity event tomorrow, and I shan't act like a bitch.

Actually, Francois goes to a public school. I agree, they don't have to be rich or have any money/assets to live that lifestyle. They are probably making a good income but spending all of it, living paycheck to paycheck just like most of the broads on the OC version. If they had millions in the bank that house would be renovated by now. They've been there 3 years and have only done minimal work on it. You don't have to have millions to live in NYC - you just have to have a decent income to blow.

Jill is great....can't find much fault with her. Kansas-France and her husband need some guidance with child rearing..they have good intentions, but bad results. The children do need limits. Can't wait for the reunion when Ramona walks out! Yeah!

I love this show but seriously, how in the hell did that tranny mess and her gay husband make it onto this show? I am so repulsed by her hair, her teeth, her mannerisms, and her pretentious BS! And him, with his fake hair and creepy smile? Ick! I can't get over how they just sat back and watched their precious "Frank"( love that Jill gave him a nickname to average him out) mutilate Bethanny's dud of a boyfriend's burger and not do a thing? If a child acts up in a restaurant, you take that child outside and if the behavior continues, you respectfully bow out and take the brat home. As much as I can't stand Ramona, I was agreeing with everything she was saying regarding the kids behavior. Speaking of Ramona, I agree with her most of the time but her delivery usually sucks. I totally agreed with her view on tranny and the beast showing up to the girl's night out and would've been pissed as well but seriously, she made herself look like an ass. And I agree with the others, she needs to bathe. She just looks skanky all the time. I love Jill the most. She is the epitome of every girl's best friend-she totally made the show bearable for me. I like Luann but thought she needed to maybe listen to the housekeeper and spend more time with her kids. And what is most shocking to me is that her 12 yr old daughter, and I only say this because I have a 12 yr old daughter, had a boy over, whom Luann suspected of already sharing a kiss, etc. I bet they are sharing more than that. She might want to stick around a little more. And is it just me or did that kid not look or act 12!? I totally thought she was 15/16 yrs old. And back to Bethanny and her dud of a dickhead-she has a great personality with lots of potential but if she doesn't get over her Daddy issues and her misguided notions about this guy and what he really wants, she is going to set herself up for a lifetime of a heartache. She needs to spend some time on the shrinks couch before she thinks about having babies. Oh, and I know I'm techinically a n00b, but I've been a long time Sucks reader :)

There aren't very many famous conservative-dressing women that one can use as an example that will also be instantly recognizable. Martha Stewart really doesn't work because while, yes, she dresses nicely and she even dresses conservatively, she doesn't do the "power business suit" look. And for an interview for an office job, you want to go for a very conservative, very business-like look. So LuAnn was just using Condi as a visual example of the look one should go for, not saying she agrees with anything Condi says/does nor was she mentioning Condi because she's black; she just has the right look. At least, that was my impression. Jill is great....can't find much fault with her. Jill just needs to realize that Remora is a lost cause and user. Remora has never done anything nice for anyone that didn't also directly benefit Remora. That's not friendship, that's bottom feeding. Remora's also crass and tactless. Which is worse than classless. Because "classless" just means you're ignorant and don't know any better while being crass or tactless means at some level you realize you're stomping all over someone's feelings but you just don't give a shit. It means you lack the ability to feel basic human sympathy for a fellow person. You can, hopefully, teach etiquette to someone who lacks class but you can't teach sympathy to someone who's crass. And, oddly, Remora feels a lot of pride in her crassness. Thus: lost cause. Bethenny is funny, but still out to lunch about her "fiance". He's just not that into her. I think he actually spoke more than three words this episode! I'm in shock! Oh. Oh, wait. "We'll talk about it later" was more than three words too. So, guess tonight wasn't as earth shattering as I thought. Kansas-France and her husband need some guidance with child rearing..they have good intentions, but bad results. The children do need limits. Every time we have a close up of Fran-swah, I always get the same impression: that poor kid doesn't get enough sleep. Lord but his eyes are puffy; he has circles under his eyes. He looks sick or anemic or like he doesn't get enough sleep. I really shouldn't comment about the kids being completely out of control. But that's exactly the impression I got. I've never had kids so I don't know how normal it might be for a four year old to act like Fran***** did. But I've definitely seen better behaved children, including a set of three kids all under the age of five who were being raised by a single parent. Mom pointed at a couch, told them to sit and they did, quietly, for at least an hour while a group of us adults were gabbing and not paying any attention to them. I was astounded and still am even now, years later. Hopefully, Alex and Simon have decided to stop at having two because, as one of my friends would say, you shouldn't have more kids than there are adults to chase after them since neither Alex nor Simon bother chasing after (or otherwise attempting to control) the kids they already have. Oh my.. imagine what terrors they're going to be in just a few years..

They are probably making a good income but spending all of it, living paycheck to paycheck just like most of the broads on the OC version. If they had millions in the bank that house would be renovated by now. They've been there 3 years and have only done minimal work on it. You don't have to have millions to live in NYC - you just have to have a decent income to blow. I read in Alex's blog that they believe income is for spending and capital is for investing. So they apparently spend everything they make.

Ramona might be an insufferable twat (actually, she is), but I can't stand parents who don't have clear boundaries where their kids are involved. Frankie's too old for that loud shit to be the least bit cute, but I know at that age I would've caught a belt putting my hands in the food of an adult guest.
