DonnaRama wrote:I had been really looking forward to this, but all I am hearing is how awful it is. I'd really like to know more about this business about it being offensive. I found this review which says, in part: It's impossible to discuss the eventual plot twist without getting too deeply into spoiler territory; suffice it to say that it's both howlingly offensive to GLBT audiences - the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation should be prepared to fire up some press releases - and it's so tawdry and ludicrous that, were the film's tone anything but Carter's usual dark and downbeat style, this movie would be the new "I Know Who Killed Me." That sounds pretty harsh. |

oh i think i know what they're talking about. there was a scene with scully being all kinds of nasty to a priest that had molested kids. now it makes
sense. i didn't even notice it.

As an X-Phile, I'm totally biased. But I just saw the movie, and I loved it.
Major plot spoilers follow: |

I loved the x-files a long time ago before they fucked it up so much.
I just saw the movie and I would say it's like an extra long average episode :shrugs: |

I'll see it sometime this weekend, if if Philes like it then I probably will love it.

I saw it. It was alright. I liked it better than the first movie. It was definitely creepy, but I think the fact that they killed off all the best characters
before the end of the series sort of screwed up the possibility for a great movie later. Also, not enough Skinner. He should have kicked somebody's ass.

It bombed in the box office, only about 10 million...guess there won't be a third movie.

I need to re-watch the series. I quit watching around 1998 or so

Just watched Post Modern Prometheus for the first time since it aired. What a classic. When the show was on I took it very seriously and resented the comedy
episodes. But now I realize they're the best.

The comedy episodes were the best. And the best of those was the one where the one dude finds a chick genie rolled up in a rug. He wishes to be invisible and
gets hit by a truck.
That Will Sasso dude was hilarious in that one. He's in a wheelchair, and instead of wishing for the ability to walk, he wishes for a solid gold wheelchair. |

Just watched Bad Blood, where Mulder and Scully tell two different versions of their encounter with the pizza boy vampire and bucktoothed Luke Wilson. Comedy
gold.

They definitely were at their best with comedic episodes. In the movie, that moment where the pic of George W. Bush is shown and the theme rises...that was
funny. The rest of the movie was pretty meh. I don't get the gay brouhaha. So what, they have villainous characters who happen to be gay. Their
homosexuality isn't what makes them bad, they just happen to be fudge-packers. It's equality at its best.

I'm also biased but I loved the movie. Didn't hit me at how much I liked it until driving home. I can see some of the complaints from the reviews but
it wasn't as bad as some of them made it out to be. I don't think I would have appreciated the connection of Mulder and Scully as much if I wasn't
such a hardcore viewer of the show.

Here's an example of what I hated about the movie:

Just got back from seeing it. I freakin' LOVED it.
I don't understand the brouhaha about the paedo storyline either. It was essential to Scully's inner turmoil and to the eventual tie-in with the priest's "connection". And thank goodness I took the advice of staying through the credits. Huzzah! (Although it didn't look animated to me.) Sadly though, I agree there will probably NOT be a third X-files movie. Oh, and one question I do have: What DID happen to their son William? I thought at the end of the series Scully was still raising him. |

Glebe, shut your assface you cuntfaced twat. It's obvious that Scully pulled that idea out of her ass in the meeting, so she then had to google or cuil or
kartOO it. And she spent days researching it. Did you sleep through half the movie you drunken strumpet?
