9. Canada's Next Top Model, Cycle 2

CNTM 2 was a decent cycle. It had a great winner (Rebecca) and some pretty interesting characters (Tia, Tara). Tara was probably my favorite of the season mostly because she lasted week after week despite being in the Bottom 2 (fun fact: Tara is the only English-speaking Top Model contestant to have survived a consecutive three Bottom 2 appearances so far. She was eliminated the next round though). The show had moved to Toronto and had gotten more respectable judges (including Yasmin Warsame, who is gorgeous!), both of which made the show a lot more pleasurable to watch. Some of the photoshoots were cool, like the beauty, trampoline, and lingerie/phone shoots, but others were kind of lame, like the nude shoot and the one with the cars and helicopter. The fact that Mr. Jay had replaced Tricia Helfer also didn't help. He tried too hard to be like Tyra (even praising girls who didn't deserve it much like Tyra does!) and he was just all-around annoying. Many of the girls were completely boring (really, everyone but the three already mentioned were very dull), with the runner-up being the worst of all. She was probably the most over-praised of all the girls, but I guess it turned out okay in the end, as she ended up not winning. But despite all the negatives, Cycle 2 was pretty good and was definitely an improvement on the first one. I mean, at least the winner has done some modeling since the end of the show.

7. America's Next Top Model, Cycle 2

I know for a lot of people, Cycle 2 is their favorite season. Sure, it was good, but it isn't anywhere near my favorite. The photoshoots were fabulous of course and so were some of the models. Tyra hadn't become a Tyrant yet and the judging seemed relatively fair and honest. Sounds good so far? Well, the biggest problem for me was the cast. The first five girls eliminated were completely boring/unlikable (I would say the first six, but I actually didn't mind Catie. I think I might be the only one though). Out of the Final 4, I didn't really like anyone, even though many of them were entertaining. My two favorites (Sara and Camille) had gone out back to back and I just lost interest. Still, this cycle provided some of the funniest/most entertaining moments in Top Model history, including Catie's meltdown over her hair (really, it is one of the first meltdowns induced by a makeover. Sure, Nicole had one in Cycle 1, but her pouting was more annoying than laughable), Camille's improvised acting, and Yoanna's fall during the music video (the music video in and of itself is hilarious also ). We also got to see Shandi's boyfriend squeal after she cheated on him. Also, some of my favorite shoots, such as the two beauty shots, the nude shoot, and the one where they had to hang over a hole, came from this cycle. I think part of the problem with this cycle might have been that I hadn't seen it until way after its initial run. By that time, it had been so hyped as the best cycle ever that I ended up being disappointed. Still, Cycle 2 is a solid season that I would gladly rewatch.
