It's not that Nicole doesn't look modelesque, it is that the judges tried to sell her as the most "high fashion" girl to ever win the show. I can understand her winning, it is just that the judges were just so over the top about her photos every week, when in reality, they were good, but not that great (I mean, Twiggy was practically orgasming over Nicole's pics every single week!).

13. America's Next Top Model, Cycle 4

When making this list, I was actually surprised at how high Cycle 4 ranked. Although certainly not the worst, Cycle 4 is definitely near the bottom as far as America's Next Top Model cycles are concerned. Not only is it the cycle that Tyra decided to let herself go, but Cycle 4 is really the first cycle where you get completely WTF girls, like Sarah, Brandy, Noelle, Lluvy, and Michelle, all of whom were paper bag worthy. Although there had been these type of girls before, like Giselle, Bethany, and Magdalena, they had been relatively few in number until Cycle 4. The worst out of the bunch was Lluvy, who survived week after week despite taking absolutely dreadful pictures and looking awful in person. This was also the first cycle in LA, a move that took credibility away from the show, as LA is not the major fashion capital that New York is. The judging studio was also the worst ever (even when compared to the cheap set of Cycle 1), as it looked like a rundown warehouse that had been minimally decorated to try to cover up how much of a dump it was. Along with the judging room, almost everything about this cycle just seemed so cheaply done. Also, although Cycle 3 was really the one to introduce us to heavy-handed product placement that is now a requirement of the show, Cycle 4 really took this to an extreme, as almost all the photoshoots was in someway marketing some product coming from a sponsor. Gone in this cycle were also the beauty shot (not including the ridiculously airbrushed CoverGirl pics) and the nude shoot, both of which are probably two of the most entertaining shoots. The nude shoot in particular is always funny because there is usually at least one girl that freaks out about not being able to do it. Still, the photoshoots on a whole were pretty decent, the only truly awful one being the first shoot.

Although it is generally considered a dull season, Cycle 4 did have its funny and entertaining moments, including the house freakout over Manchelle's skin, Keenyah's weight gain and ruthlessness at the go-sees challenge, and Kahlen's breakdown after losing despite claiming she would not be "the girl that cried in the corner." The finale also caused great controversy by crowning Naima instead of Kahlen, a sore point still today for delusional Kahlen fans. Also funny is the occasional post that includes a picture of Carmen Kass in some designer's advertisement which people always try to claim is Kahlen. When they are finally told that it is not her, they always retort with some stupid assertion that the fact that Kahlen resembled Carmen Kass means that she should have won! The most epic and memorable moment, however, was Tyra's meltdown, which lives on today as one of the best moments in ANTM history. The fact that Tyra took herself and the show so seriously, as well as the reactions of all the other girls, is what makes her Tyrade so laffotastic!

Of course my personal theory is that Tyra's freak-out occurred because she had been grooming Tiffany for the win, and was pissed because she had to come up with a Plan B default winner

Agreed. I've always thought the same thing about Cycle 2. Shandi was a lock for the win, but then had to cheat on her boyfriend, something that the show wasn't going to condone.

The "sins" and "animal' photoshoots were memorable.

I think the "sins" one had the potential to be a great shoot, but everyone did terribly. But it did provide us with one of the worst photos ever, Manchelle's pride shot!

Ugh. Tootie was the worst of worst. Cycle 9 never happened.

But without Cycle 9, we wouldn't have Ebony, Lisa, and Jenah. Also, we wouldn't have a universally HATED winner (really, there is only one person that I can think of that likes her).

Cycle 9 would have been up there for me if Jenah or even Chantal won.
