It's more sad that you guys actually think her performances didn't warrant better commentary than they got or that she didn't sing well. At least
she doesn't come off as delusional.

She does come off as delusional. But, you know, she's following Neil Diamond's advice. She's doing what she loves and should keep doing it, no matter how badly she keeps doing it. Maybe someday she'll actually get good. Maybe! |

You know, I think this girl has a FABULOUS voice, and I just loved her, but if she whines one more time about how unfair it was that all the guys outlasted her
I'm going to throw something heavy at her during the AI concert. If Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks and Carrie Underwood could find some way of fighting off
the Boy's Club, you can too, sugarplum. Fantasia doesn't count. She was more man than any of the guys in her year, and I mean that as a compliment,
kinda.

I finally watched "American Idol Extra", and I have to say that Shitson is irritating me even more since being eliminated. Her constant whining about
how the boys have it so much easier... First of all, it's not true. All of the boys who outlasted her (yes, even Jason) are more enjoyable to watch than
her. She has such an overinflated view of her talents! Beyond that, though, it's just so patronizing to the audience. These people are the ones who are
going to [theoretically] be supporting her future career. Does she really think it's such a good idea to REPEATEDLY accuse them of being vapid,
sexist ditzes?

Carly's comments about sexism sound stupid, with so many women winning before her. But what people should really be comparing her situation to is how KLo
and Trenyce were treated in the second season. Like this year, the judges desperately wanted a finale between 2 guys (Reuben & Clay then, the two Davids
now). Anybody threatening this was criticized excessively, as Trenyce and KLo were, and Carly was considered the women most likely to break it up. Her singing
never changed, but she was starting to develop some stage presence, dress better, cover the tattoo, and had finally stopped using her Morticia Adddams makeup
kit. So they tried to get rid of her, and succeeded. It wasn't really sexism, just a desire to have a 7th season winner who'd be guaranteed (?) to sell
lots of CDs.
Having said all this, her duet with Michael sucked. Her voice is totally wrong for duets. |

Kim and Trenyce got screwed because the judges downplayed them, even though they were better than the favorites. Simon flat out ADMITTED in his book that
Kimberley was the best on top 3 night, but they couldn't have her making the finals. Carly was not better than the David's. Therefore, it is correct
that she was criticized more than them.
