Seriously, this "talent" is underwhelming...

Worst group of any season I've seen. (I didn't watch first season.) Honestly, there are maybe 3 singers, TOTAL, I give a damn about at this juncture. I
think I might just get specific performance times here reading your East coast play-by-play, and go back to Biggest Loser and ANTM live. Seriously. For the
first time ever, I was WTF about most of Simon's comments. I hardly agreed with any of the 3 of them, the entire night. Jumped the shark, I hear you
knockin' at the door.

Season 2's pretty bad too. 5/6 of the contestants in that season wouldn't have passed the auditions. And they're all fugly.

Once again, the women blow the men out of the water.
I think it's a lackluster season in terms of talent, but compared to most I think this time around there's more interesting personalities, |

I disagree. I think the men are miles ahead of the women this season. Aside from Ramiele, it's a mediocre bunch. If a guy can't win this season,
they probably never will.
And yeah, the talent is very disappointing so far. The only three contestants I like are David Archuleta, Michael Johns and Ramiele. |

This season seems to be about marketability, or what the show sees as marketability. Carrie, Kelly, and Daughtry are their biggest sellers, so we get a sea of
rocker chicks, rocker dudes, and blonde country cuties. Unfortunately, so far they all seem like very cheap imitations. There's also a lot of focus on
looks, even though most of the people we're supposed to love, like Michael, aren't as attractive as they think.
With a few exceptions, I thought S4 had the worst lineup, but this group, particularly the men, are working hard to upstage them. I don't even know how most of them got past the audition stage. I think they decided to put through a weak cast to help Michael and Carly and a few of the others.

Most of these people sounded a lot better during the auditions. There must have been a lot of nerves pulling them down. At least I hope so.

Last season's early top 24 boots are better than the cannon fodder this time around

This will be the season where we all realize we need the VFTW people to hold our interest throughout, without them it's far too boring!
How much more fun would it have been if we had Josiah around to totally despise and battle against his fans all year on the boards? How great would it have been to root for the politics freak especially with the election soon? He might have sung patriotic songs and we'd all have to give his gawky wonky self the VFTW crown! AI tried to be way too serious this year and hire on a bunch of semi-pro's and it's exploded right in their collective faces. |

Blame Nigel for this shit.......they should be allowed to sing their own song choices.

Underwhelmed: My Ode to Idol season 7 | ||
|
To the tune of Stevie Wonder's "Overjoyed."
All this time, I've been waiting on season 7 It's sad but true though I know for damn sure that I'll hate it I've watched far too much ever since season 2 Though deep down I know the outcome's severely skewed All the dreams, that we'll watch crumble before our eyes We'll blog and laugh while delusional hacks go dreaming They've come oh so far their journeys so long Only to get to hear they simply picked the wrong song Even if they don't sing that great We'll sit and wait on the edge of our seats as if we care 'bout their fate Some of us might even call in Vote for the worst one to win Underwhelmed Unimpressed with season 7 Broken hearts, cannon fodder that crashes and burns Their just for show cause we know they had no chance of winning They've come oh so far faced Simon's barrage Now all they've got to show for that's a goodbye montage Even though they won't sing that great We'll sit and wait on the edge of our seats as if we cared 'bout their fate Some of us might even call in Vote for the worst one to win Underwhelmed Unimpressed with season 7 And even though their pitch ain't controlled Drunken Paula will be there to console Randy will throw them a bone, say "Dawg, you made it your own!" The Idol winner has been way overpimped Nigel thinks that we're chimps Underwhelmed unimpressed |

Did they only allow the top 24 to choose between 50 songs from the decade? What a dumb mistake. No wonder this week was so underwhelming. Idol always seems to
do its best to handicap people
