I've been rewatching the episode to get GIFs and he seems kind of gay to me. Is he? Could there be a "showmance" between him and the other gay
fan?

Do you mean jason or fairplay? fairplay acts it but isnt. Jason talks about being into girls but I wouldnt be suprised if its a cover!
