I just rewatched the whole season (didnt have any other seasons left to watch at that point & had someone over who hadnt seen it) and it PHYSICALLY HURT me how those COMPLETE MORONS attempted to play the game. (except Jonathan and Ozzy, and the latter just played "his own game", lol, cant blame him though, if I knew that I could win every frikkin challenge by a mile I`d prolly also play that way, hahaha) They handed Yul the victory on a silver platter, it was really painful to watch Adam, Parv & Candice make a complete mockery of the human brain and Becky play the role of the stereotypical Korean girl to perfection. (oh, by the way, AWARD TO RARO FOR THE MOST USELESS TRIBE IN SURVIVOR HISTORY, not only did they completely and utterly suck strategically, but also in challenges and around camp!!!) The only good things about Cook: Yul won, Candice suffered (for being a moron and not even realizing it) and a display of the fact that intelligence > everything.

I can't even remember which women you're talking about. I can't even remember who the hell was in the final ten! Fiji was EVERY BIT as horrible as people are making it seem, and since Cook Islands still has it beat in terms of how much it sucks, that leaves nothing for Fiji to be memorable. Ok, so the Dreamz/Yau-man thing toward the end and the stupid initial twist. Maybe I'll even give you the final 10 episode (which I don't remember) and them searching through Yau-man's bag. If those are the biggest memories of a season, that season is NOT memorable. It's laughable to me that people are calling Guatemala (where two of the most popular and memorable contestants EVER returned, where the HII began, where there were a bunch of memorable characters like Stephenie, Rafe, Judd, Margaret, Amy, Brian, etc., where the first episode had one of the longest and most difficult challenges ever, where the location was interesting and unique, the list goes on) more forgettable than Fiji!! It's a joke!

A twist brought back two players. How did they impact the game? Hard to say. They didn't really do all that much. What else happened? Um, Judd was fun. Jamie and Gary gave us a couple of good characters. A few more interesting people were thrown into the mix. Oh, a HII was used. That's about it. Nothing big, nothing exciting, nothing that you still find yourself thinking about years later. Nobody ever discusses Guatemala around here. Not for its strategy, not for its characters, not for its story line. Nothing. Because it was a dull season, through and through. Half the cast was just dreadfully boring, including the first four boots and the last five. Compare that to Fiji, where you got some huge, noteworthy moments. The car deal, the final TC, the Haves/Have Nots, the huge personalities of Rocky/Lisi/Yau/Dreamz, the Edgardo blindside, the tale of the 4 Horsemen, memorable early boots in Sylvia & Anthony, the half-merge twist, the HII boot, the med-evac. There was a lot of great stuff in there. Sure, the editing was lacking. A ton of characters got the shaft. Between Vanuatu and Fiji, we saw an awful lot of that. I agree with you on figi being more memorable than guatemula, but to say the final 5 were boring? Stephenie sure wasnt boring. The season was about her and how many people she can betray in an episode. Stephenie got shoved down our throats so much in Guatemala that by the time the first few episodes were over, the one person you never again wanted to see on your T.V. screen was still sitting there eating up camera time. And no, she wasn't all that entertaining, either. She was a decent character both times around, but she doesn't have the natural entertainment value truly good characters have. And it's hard to extend someone like that as much as Steph was over-extended (not to mention directly after a season full of her). Danni, Lydia, and Cindy were all very, very dull. I actually like Rafe, but a lot of people can't stand the guy, and I can definitely see why he'd be considered boring. He's not especially fun to watch, that's for sure.

Bobby Jon didn't impact the game very much but Stephenie was one of the best players that season. She ran things and became a great villain. Jamie and Gary were great characters as you said. Gary gave us a better TC than the Edgardo blindside which was ridiculously over-the-top edited. It felt so contrived that I didn't enjoy it. You say "a few more interesting people" as though that means nothing. Yeah, Lisi, Rocky, Yau and Dreamz were big personalities. Ok, that's four. Two of them were gone mid-season and neither of the others won the game. A boring winner helps make a season forgettable and you can't deny that Danni was more entertaining than Earl, although they were both boring. A HII was used, Cindy's boot episode with the whole car thing was quite interesting. Plus it just had a bunch of interesting little moments (Danni calling Gary out, Judd/Margaret feud, pancake dance, chicken sacrifice controversy) What was special about the final TC? I don't see why the four horsemen (which I actually wouldn't even be able to name the members of) is any more special than any other alliances of any other season. Sylvia and Anthony were no more memorable than Margaret, Amy, Brian, or even Blake. I forgot about the medavac because the guy who got medavaced had literally like one confessional. Fiji ended less than a year ago, so why don't we wait a few more years to see if, at the same point, it's still miles ahead of Guatemala in terms of reminiscing. "Sure, the editing was lacking" is about the biggest understatement of the year. Having half the cast ignored/boring/underedited is not something that can be overlooked when talking about memorability. A twist at the merge is nothing new (even Thailand was more memorable in that aspect) and the HII boot was memorable but Gary had used a HII before too, even though the consequences were different, I still don't know why the Fiji time is any more memorable.
