It was an OK performance but no where near as good as Joan Jett. The back up band didn't help her either. The Blackhearts blasted it out much better.

Most of the time the backup singers were singing louder than her so you couldn't hear how offkey she was. If that's Simon's idea of a great
performance, he needs to get out more.

Notice in the recap they showed a part where you could barely hear Amanda and it was just the back up singers. Those back up singers are what made Amanda sound
less like shit this week.

I think she's extremely uncomfortable up there.
The whole dancing thing came off as incredibly self-conscious. It's not like she danced so terrible... but she was just clearly nervous and not feeling it, poor thing. She's a sweetheart, but she's not comfortable on stage unless she's hiding behind a half inch of makeup and vamping it up... which is why she wears so much, even though she has a sweet face and looks much younger and better without it. Vocals were good last night. I'm glad the judges didn't point out how uncomfortable she was dancing there. Maybe some in the audience didn't notice. |

In the first week she gave a great performance and wound up the bottom 3. In the second week she gave a trainwreck performance and was safe. This week she gave
a good performance and the result is obviously impossible to be sure of. She'll probably make it thru but I don't see her lasting long in the top 12. I
don't know the judges are so enthusiastic about her either. They didn't much like Amanda's rockergrrl predecessors (Ryan, Nikki and Gina) and
Amanda may be "more real" than they were but she isn't really better.

I LOVE her indifference. I just think she's a calm person.
She's not the kind who would jump up and down when receiving the golden ticket, probably knowing that she might get eliminated right away on the first elimination process. unlike some ppl who acted crazy when given the golden ticket, and then when being eliminated right away, they were like "I dunno what to do with my life anymore" |
