Parvati is absolutely CP this ep. She's the only person who talked not only about the end game, but repeated her ep1 intro that she was here to win this
thing.
Maybe Natalie's pay-off is to make F-4. It's usually the INV's last hurrah. Who knows, she may get story out of this thing, yet. |

To add further to my discussion about how the editing is not stacking up with Parvati winning as a strong player, TDB S18 Winner put together so stats as to
the number of confessionals the past 7 winners have had up to Episode 10 and comparing it with some of the remaining players. The minimum number of winner
confessionals up to Episode 10 was Danni at 19. The next lowest was Yul at 26. Then Chris at 27, Aras at 28 and Tom at 30. The highest were Todd and Earl at 40
and 41 respectively.
Parvati has only had 15 confessionals to date. Which would be OK if she was edited to be a Danni type winner. But she *isn't*. That is Parvati is getting the personal facetime of a Danni but she isn't edited to win like a Danni. Cirie has 27 which fits in with a strong strategic winner. Cirie is getting far more time to explain herself in her own words than Parvati. Alexis by the way has only had 13 confessionals which is far below even Danni which fits in with the observations people have made that she is almost (but not quite) invisible. We are being *told* in words that Parvati will win as a strong player. In fact it is somewhat rammed down our throats. But we are not being *shown* that this is how she wins. That is the main problem with Parvati's editing. The editing of how she is likely to win doesn't have the supporting evidence to match it. The editors have gone to the trouble of screaming at us in big neon lights "This is why Parvati wins" and is why she is the main pick this season by so many people in this thread but if you look carefully they are not matching the substance to the words. Basically Parvati is a big distraction.

SFC:Well, I think we already know who the guy Parvati's sleeping with gives credit to. Lol. At this point Amanda has only one position to fall back to: Her so-called f-3 alliance with Parvati and Cirie. Whoever gets "blamed" for setting Dolphin Boy up, it's James who's totally isolated now. At least he doesn't do Bitter Betties like another arrogant dude we know. |

I don't think he's picking her to win, though.

He was for a while ago before her stats went to shit, and I think that's what they were trying to get at.

2 qoutes stood out to me after watch this past episode.
Johnathan about Parvati "By following Cirie, you have signed your own death warrent. She has led you like a sheep to the slaughter and played you like a fiddle" Cirie "I don't know just yet how i'm going to dismantle that 4some, but i'm going to try" |

Rankings this week go like this
Alexis - UTR2 - First time I watched I thought Natalie had crossed her fingers. No intent to hammer anything about her. Sniff. Amanda - UTR3 - Most will rate 2, gut feeling for me that she was visible throughout the ep, from reward to her shocked reactions, that Ozzy's appendage stood out. Cirie - MOR4 - Some have already gotten it right, that wasn't CP. If so, I'd know why she made her play beyond Ozzy having the idol. I'd know how she plans to go forward, or why she'll be better off. Nothing. Nothing the editing took time to explain. Erik - OTTP4 - Easy one. I like mr. scooper. How do both sides of his hair always match up so perfectly. James - MORN3 - Almost went OTT, he is close to being a cariaciture. The girls sleeping scene is a good study. Clearly, while they do sleep while he's up working, the editing took pains to show him as rude and just as bad. Like I say, anything can be shown anyway. When he lost his concentration after the extra rubbing it in to Alexis and Natalie, I loved it. Good sounds bites though. Jason - CPM4 - I debated about Tone. He ain't just N, he tried to make a play and told us that he knew the risks. Other hand, he gave up immunity potentially, and he is the dunderhead. Is that neutral? Well, I think you had to react with Tone for him to payoff the turn at the vote, so I went Mixed. Natalie - UTR1 - Why why why? Ozzy - OTTN4 - I'd get arguements for MOR, maybe even CP, but he was simply the blind leader who couldn't beat his own arrogance even when he himself questioned his position. He was one dimensional in the end, the object to be beaten by the real players. Another example why MOR3's are not indicitive of a winner despite seemingly keeping you near the middle. Parvati - CP4 - No tone for sleeping in, James egged her on and we saw him doing so. We got in her head, know she's weighing her risks, and was everything in her tone about her decision that Ozzy wasn't, careful and considering. You know my winner pick quote by now - Alexis, Parvati. Parvati, Alexis. No Cirie here. Michael

Manipulated edit with clothing in Parvati/Amanda quick conversation from pictures in Naj's post in this thread
1. Amanda with shirt pulled down, with shorts, without cap.
Is that Amanda in the background? It looks like her cap.
2. Amanda without shirt, without shorts, with cap.
3. Amanda with shirt tucked up, without shorts, without cap.
So were these three different conversations? It looks like Parvati is talking to Amanda alone in the last two pictures. The two reasons I can see for this manipulated conversation is it downplays how Parvati is close with Amanda, or it downplays Parvati's direct lie to Amanda's face by manipulating the viewers into thinking that everyone was talking to Amanda at the time.

We are being *told* in words that Parvati will win as a strong player but we are not being *shown* that this is how she wins. That is the main problem with Parvati's editing. The editing of how she is likely to win doesn't have the supporting evidence to match it.I think I understand this, but I am not sure. Parvati has told us that she plans to play the flirt game but actually play smartly and strategically. I think what is really being shown to us is that Parvati cannot handle all the knives she's trying to juggle. She'd like to be seen as a mastermind but cannot handle the pressure and responsibility of doing so affectively. |

Dictatorship |

^Why do you say Parvati can't handle it? She's shown that she CAN handle it by being able to stay level-headed throughout the game, and she's
remained calm and straight-faced during one of the biggest blindsides in Survivor history, partly orchestrated by herself.

AnneZob wrote: That is an interesting stat, AnneZob. It's also possible that having 20 people in the game skews a bit with the numbers for the winner, and that Cirie is functioning as a distraction for Parvati. But you make some excellent arguments for Cirie in this and other posts. I am reminded of a few Cirie moments such as her bitching about going on the rowing expedition with Ozzy, Erik & Amanda, as well as her wondering when the rest of the group would offer to cart her around in a chariot. It's not that I don't want Parvati to win; I still do

Jedijake wrote: Actually that is what I meant. To quote myself from a recent post on this thread. "Basically Parvati talks about playing hard, being strong etc. but she is not *shown* as being in control and being a strategic mastermind. She is not really showing being a strong leader of the tribe in any other way either which doesn't fit in with the suggestions that she wins because she is strong. A possible reason for the disconnect between the suggestions of how she might win and the lack of evidence to support it is as people have suggested her strategic play makes her lose in the end - she overplays and faces a bitter jury. She *tries* to win by being a strong player but fails." |
