For the love of Jonathan Christ, beatles! Do NOT feel bad for appreciating Jonathan. Everybody here has the right to like whoever they want. If people start
not liking you because of that, they didn't deserve to get the time of day from you to begin with.

I have a ton of hope for this season. I thought Survivor was done after Cook Islands and Fiji...I think if the casting did their job with the newbies then the
season should be fine. I do honestly feel like this season has more going for it then some other seasons where Probst has not hyped as much.
Jonathan is a huge character...I don't know why people don't think he is a big deal, he was practically all of Cook Islands. there was a reason why he seems bigger because everyone else was so minor, but he honestly I think would have been a big character in any season. Besides Parvati and Amanda (who I both like) the favorites are all really good personalities to come back. |

I actually agree with the fact that this season may suck, due to exile island, the high probability of a million water challenges, and on paper, potentially
boring/invisible fans (Mikey B (not as interesting in his video), Mary, Tracy, Natalie, Jason, etc), but I was never even excited about the fans. I'm
looking forward to the favourites, without question. Cirie, Ami, Eliza, Jonathan, and Yau Man are all on my objective list (and I say objective because my
subjective list would include Sally; who I think would be a good choice for a full all stars, but not a half all stars) of favourites that should come back
(the other 5 being Twila, Terry, Peih-Gee, Todd, and Shane -- taking into account people like Tom/Candice/Courtney who turned it down), and I actually like
Amanda/Parvati/James. Fairplay is only not on my list because I think it should only be post-ASS, and like him or not, Ozzy was a fan favourite, and will show
once and for all whether he's a coat tail rider or learned from his mistakes last time. I would love for the fans tribe to be ulonged, with the exception
of Erik, Alexis, and Kathleen, but I'm really excited to see the favourites in action again.

I am not that excited for it. I just really don't care for anyone really except for maybe Cirie and Eliza. The fans cast is kind of lacks. I don't see
myself liking anyone on that tribe except for Tracy and maybe Kathleen. Maybe it's another island location that is ruining it for me.

personally i think that all this hype and suspense will make this season fun to watch cos if you as a fan are all intense and hyped up you get more involved
and obsessed with the show, even if it is actually crap i'm sure i'll enjoy it and get into it.

Dalton Ross wrote an article on Micronesia that appeared in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly. Here are some of the highlights of the article: Micronesia
was suppose to be the final season for Survivor. After the disaster known as Fiji (bad creative - haves vs. have nots - and bad casting), Jeff Probst, CBS, and
the producers braved for the end. However, with the success of China (a ratings increase over Fiji, watercooler moments, and good casting), CBS decided to
renew Survivor for two more editions and extend Jeff Probst's contract for four more editions. CBS originally planned to have a second complete All Stars
edition. The plan was dismissed because it would have been too predictable for a show that prides itself on keeping contestants and viewers guessing. Plus,
Jeff Probst said they weren't sure that they had 20 good All Stars, especially women. He said memorable women are harder to find on Survivor. Nevertheless,
there are no huge shockers as to the members of the Favorites tribe. Courtney Yates declined the invitation. It is suggested that Courtney's turn-down led
to Amanda Kimmel being invited to take part. Tom Westman was the only winner invited to take part. He turned down the invitation. The producers played with the
idea of having viewers choose who would take part in a second All Stars. The idea was rejected because they (the producers) wanted a little more control. Jeff
Probst said that maintaining diversity is proving to be more difficult than imagined when asked about the lack of diversity among the tribe of fans. Only
Natalie Bolton is part Native-American. Jeff Probst criticized why a couple of the Fans were selected to take part. He cited Kathleen Sleckman, saying she does
not fit. Jeff Probst did not want Jon "Jonny Fairplay" Dalton to return. He even told CBS that Survivor doesn't need JFP. CBS listened to Probst,
but overrode his objections. The article mentioned the argument between JFP and Jeff's brother that led to JFP's ban from Survivor events. Jeff plans
to let JFP take any shots at him first before he shoots back. This is to keep the game fair. The rest of the article contains potential spoiler material, so I
will not go any further. Much what was mentioned in the article has been discussed in other threads in the various Sucks forums. If any of these points are to
be discussed, they should be discussed in the proper threads so that this forum can continue to be devoted to Micronesia discussion.

I think they pride themselves too much on all their 'infamous twists and turns'. They've come up with a lot of stupid ones that didn't fare
well, and to give us...the fans...a chance to vote for the next ASS set wouldn't have brought in viewers or made people feel they had a part in the game?
They wanted more "control over things" so that they could pick people like Amanda?? The fans would've had a cast like Fairplay, Shane, Candace,
Jonathon, Coby <-----entertaining! Parvati, Amanda and James <----not entertaining!

I kind of put off watching videos and most previews until today. So just watched all of the player videos (I think I will kill myself if I have to watch a
Fool's Gold trailer again though...), Jeff Probst tribal council tour, and the tv guide special. I liked Mikey B a lot more, Erik annoyed the fuck out of
me, I hope Cirie doesn't go through this like her video made her out to be. Really clueless. So I'm hoping for some Exile Island Cirie to show through.
Can't see Johnny Fairplay making it very far at all. I think Ami, Eliza, and Parvati stand the best chance on there team. I think that Amanda will be kind of an outcast and not last long...and the others I'm not sure. I'd love it if Ozzy was gone in the first few episodes. For the newbies...again I liked Mikey B a lot more then I thought. Natalie and Tracey look very similar it will be hard to tell them apart. Tracey seems to be a very old school casting choice. Someone we would have seen in Africa, Marquesas, Thailand, or Amazon. Indifferent to her really but she seems interesting. Erik was just annoying. His lips are to big...he just sounds awful. I didn't like his personality. Mary was kind of blah...immediate dislike for her combination of the best player Stephenie/Parvati...yea...right...I loved Kathleen I hope she sticks around but I could totally see her just being to annoying to her tribe. But I hope she sticks around, she actually seems like more of a fan then some of the others. Maybe if she is to over the top she can pull a Kathy and rethink how she is playing and wind up in the finals...I pray. Natalie seems boring, Joel seems really boring...he could totally be made out to be the "big new favorite" though. I kind of liked Jason. Near the end during his Ozzy lovefest kind of turned me off. Could totally see him win though. Chet is to much for me...sorry. He is very obnoxious. He will either be disliked for being to difficult to deal with, if he really is like Sue. Or if he is to quiet I could see him taken out for being an outcast. Alexis is a cutie but I'm getting Brianna and Morgan vibes that could cause her to go early. I think we will see a Parvati or Jason win here. It annoys me the fascination that the newbies and even some of the returning players haver with Ozzy. I just don't see it... |

The only reason Kathleen feels "out of place" in her tribe is because she's the only SUPER-fan they actually put on the show. Seriously,
she's not the problem there.

Kathleen was great to watch, but I'd say her and Erik are both superfans, and Erik HAS to be a Suckster.

Jeff3 did but I think he's in China right now.
<3 <3 <3 the premiere... will add more thoughts later, but it did not disappoint at all. Except with some faves like Ami and Cirie, who I wish got more airtime, but still <3 |

It was a good premiere, but it's pretty clear that Kathy, JFP and Eliza are the only sources of solid entertainment. The rest of the cast is boring as
shit.
