I'm not sure why, but I have very high expectations for Micronesia, along with some good vibes..

It comes just off of a terrific season, and contains many favorite characters like Jonathan, Cirie and Yauman. There's plenty of reasons to be excited
about it.

Aw crap, on the TV Guide said there was two II's right off, right? Is this gonna be exactly like Palau with Jonathan/Wanda?

No season with Jonathan in it can possibly suck.
.....except Cook Islands. |

Aw crap, on the TV Guide said there was two II's right off, right? Is this gonna be exactly like Palau with Jonathan/Wanda?No. The Individual Immuntiy swimming race will take place like in the first Palau season, but there won't be a schoolyard pick. There will be one II for each tribe. If you watch the preview again, Jeff says that the Immunity must only be used at the first Tribal Council that tribe attends, no matter what. It's basically a neat way to ensure you won't be the first booted from your tribe. |

I think this one will be one of Survivor's best along with China base on Jeff's Media Conference. If not, I'll be disappointed.

I'm not looking forward to this season at all the interesting players seem to be physically weak and obvious targets and the cast is stacked with even more
bland alpha-males than usual (along with an annoying amount of invisible females).

Yeah, I was about to say, I'm glad to see people are optimistic but I think a lot of people are setting themselves
up to be really disappointed. Every season sounds amazing when Probst builds it up in the pre-season press conference.
I'm not crazy about the fans vs. favorites concept in the first place; it'll be a cool moment when the favorites are brought out but I still think it sounds lame, although I'll try to keep an open mind. But more importantly, I'm not going to go into this with the high expectations I had for ASS. It was entertaining but incredibly disappointing; this time around, Fairplay and Jonathan are the only characters anywhere close to the level of Hatch, Rudy, Boston Rob, Sue, Jerri, Colby, Lex, Cesternino...I'm sure Fairplay will keep it entertaining as long as he lasts, but his boot will likely destroy the season just like Hatch's did the first time. I'm expecting some decent opening episodes and maybe a few good ones later on, but I seriously think this is going to be one of the worst seasons ever. Not trying to be negative, and I am looking forward to seeing a few of my favorites again, but other than that, I haven't heard anything about this season that's really pumping me up. I hope I'm wrong. |

The thing that will destroy this season is 20 players and Exile Island. Everyones entertainment value drops when you have less time to get to know them. Its
good for the castaways, as they gain more potential lifetime friends and such, but bad for the viewers

I have to side with CSCin3D Why do people think Jonathan was SUCH a great Survivor?
When CI first aired I didn't see him as an oustanding charecter. Still don't. He's good, not great. |

IMO, as characters, there have been many better than Jonathan. We've seen the workhorse before. He's just slightly more animated. He's still a
great character though, but he is overrated, IMO.

Jonathan was the best character in a shitty season. Makes sense that people like him a lot.

in fact, he's the villain of CI, really. That said, he's intelligent, well spoken, hilarious, and knows it's a game. He's great TV.

The thing that will destroy this season is 20 players and Exile Island. Everyones entertainment value drops when you have less time to get to know them.Exile Island may actually help character development a little this time if two people get sent each time, though there's always the risk of the same people being sent again and again, hogging all the airtime. Given how disappointing all the gameplay was in ASS1, and with people like Jonathan and Ami saying they want to play more conservatively, I'm not expecting many surprises in the pre-merge. I'm just hoping Fairplay, Jonathan and Cirie stick around long enough to give amusing confessionals - Big Tom's were the only saving grace of the post-merge ASS episodes. |

How is Jonathan near Richard Hatch level? If people were to recall the Cook Islands, people that would instantly come to mind would be Ozzy, Candice, and
Parvati.
