I had a such a hard time ranking these, especially the top 6 or even the top 9. But here's everything again.


1. Pat-a-Pan - Wow, this one is a complicated song that changes around a lot, and it's impressive how Archie keeps up. It's mostly fun and fast-paced, but there are also some slower belty parts. Archie sounds great in all of them, and he even sings some French in the beginning. <3

2. Riu Riu Chiu - I've never heard of this song before, but it's so catchy and adds some refreshing flavour to the album. Archie's Spanish is amazing, and he needs to sing more. <3

3. Melodies of Christmas - I believe this is the only original track on the album co-written by Archie himself. Some samples or snippets of classic Christmas songs can be heard in the background. It's a really awesome fun pop song that's been stuck in my head since I first heard it. <3

4. Angels We Have Heard On High - It's simply epic from beginning to end. Archie's voice soars like no other that it's haunting. <3

5. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - The only track in the album featuring another artist, Archie and Charice both sing beautifully. It's a really sweet duet. This song is a lot more mellowed out and just really relaxing to listen to. <3

6. Ave Maria - Archie is singing in Latin, right? Or is it Italian? It's very soft and angelic sounding, and it's almost like you could picture Archie standing in the Sistine Chapel singing his heart out with a choir of angels behind him. Very heavenly. ^_^

7. Silent Night - This is simply beautiful. The music is so simple, and you hear Archie's voice in its sweet raw form. <3

8. O Holy Night - I really love this song, and Archie does it justice with a powerful heartfelt vocal performance. His rendition has some changes; I think he belts "Noel" at the end?

9. What a Child Is This - A very nice emotional performance from Archie. It's as if he's telling you a story that makes you wanna cry. I love the end where the music suddenly goes all big and epic sounding.

10. Joy To The World - Not among my very favourite from the album, but it's still sung so well and among the most recognizable Christmas songs. It starts off a little slow for me, but Archie really brings it in the end with teh beltin'. That big note... OMG! <3.

11. O Come All Ye Faithful - This is one of my favourite Christmas songs ever, so hearing Archie sing it is really heartwarming. It builds up well, but I think the end of the song doesn't measure up to the powerful middle part.

12. First Noel - This is a more MOR-ish track for me. But I'm a sucker for Archie runs, and I love what he does in the bridge.

13. I'll Be Home For Christmas - The shortest track in the album, this song is much like HYAMLC in that it's mellow and relaxing. Like how you feel when you come home from Christmas, duh. So the song delivers. (Yay that my least favourite track is something I don't even think is bad. ^_^)


Conclusion: Honest to God, I LOVE this album... more than Archie's debut pop album. It'll surely brighten up my Christmas a lot this year. There are no dud tracks IMO, and they show his vocal ability so much more and don't sound as overproduced. Being that it's mostly traditional Christmas songs, it's a lot more belty and ballady which is what Archie excelled at anyway when he was on Idol. But then the 3 most upbeat tracks also ended up being my top 3, so that shows how well done those are too. Production-wise, I hope Archie's next album is a lot more like this one! ^_^
