Like everyone, I love Marquesas too, the only problem is I think is that the contestants are not that exciting compared to the 1st 3 seasons.

Marquesas is amazing. There is not a single dud episode in the bunch.
I love Marquesas, but I never really got the excitement over the downfall of the Rotu four. I mean, I was excited because I hate them (except Tammy <3), but it wasn't all that different from the past pagongings. OMG, this time the pagongers are from two different tribes!!1!1! Once John left, you knew what you were in for the next 3 weeks, and I didn't find John's boot shocking in the first place. But like I said, it's probably a top 4 or 5 season for me. Well no, it was exciting because they didn't enter the merge in power; it emerged when they realized they needed each other. It would have been even more exciting had Samburu gotten their act together at the final eight in Africa and Pagonged Boran. After the first season, it basically became an inevitability that whichever group took control at the merge would retain it for the duration, and Outback and Africa reinforced that. Marquesas flipped that logic on its head; even if the gameplay went effectively the same route, the underdogs had stolen control. |

I suppose Marquesas is "important" from the point of view of game dynamics, but I really think it had a dull cast

Marquesas = My baby.
It is hands down my favorite season. I just wish Vee got some more of the airtime she deserved. She was the first winner to defeat the odds and win. I am still a little upset that some people thought Neleh should have won when really with a horrid final tribal council like that (even worse than Amanda's) she had no right to win. |

I love neleh i really do, but she was just a little too nieve at the game. At the time the season aired, back when i was 13 I thought Neleh should have one, but now six years later, V was definetly the most deserving winner, but not over Kathy, but a close second. |

In the final 5 IC,it looks like Neleh was trying to burn Kathy with her torch

Kathy pretty much single-handedly turned Marquesas from being one of the worst seasons to one of the best (same with RobC and the Amazon, though at least that
would have had Matt's craziness and Heidi's cluelessness).
'The End of Innocence' stands on its own though - I really want another episode that epic again. |

My only problem with Marquesas (apart from Vecepia winning) was that a lot of the big characters went a little too early. I could've dealt with post-merge
without the likes of V and Zoe.
Thank God for Kathy and Sean. |

I personally like Zoe. She's not bitter and she casted a vote for Neleh during the finals with this "Neleh is the Sole Survivor", and I thought
it would really happen.

was that a lot of the big characters went a little too earlyReally? I think it has one of the best boot orders ever (probably second after Amazon) - the only person I found remotely interesting who went before the merge was Peter and he was gone so quickly it didn't really matter. People like Hunter and Gabe were more interesting because they were taken out than they ever were on the island. It does suffer from ExileIslanditis, in having two of the worst people in the game in the Final 2, with Zoe in the Nick position of the only other rubbish castmember at the merge. |

Thats true. I think it was just that watching Mariano and John go back to back right after merge kinda hurt the season character-wise (though theyre boot
episodes were some of the best in Survivor history and story-wise it was perfect) leaving us with the rest of the Rotu 4 who werent anything special (Tammy
<3 though) Thankfully Kathy and Sean stepped upped an made the est of the season enjoyable.

And now, for the final pre-Micronesia Survivor rankings of this topic (until I decide to, like, rank the episodes or do a greatest moments list or something).
The second best season of all time is...
2. Survivor: Guatemala (Jim, Morgan, Brianna, Brooke, Blake, Margaret, Brian, Amy, Brandon, Bobby Jon, Jamie, Gary, Judd, Cindy, Lydia, Rafe, Stephenie, Danni) To me, Guatemala was the best post-ASS season. It had a great cast and it was physically competitive, and there were a lot of strategies being thrown around. Sure, some players like Cindy and Lydia were just sheep, but that doesn't matter. Aside from the invisible trio between Jim and Blake, Blake himself, and Cindy, I can honestly say that every member of the cast was great and made the season entertaining. Guatemala also features one of my favorite players of all time, Amy O'Hara, so that helped it out a little bit. I also loved the string of boots from Bobby Jon to Judd, because even though I was sad to see them go, they had made for great television all season. Guatemala also had whom I consider to be the best winner of all time. Despite a ton of bad luck, Danni made it work and got the million dollars. The only thing I'd find fault with is the fact that Guatemala was the Stephenie show, and I wanted more focus on the other players, because they certainly seemed interesting enough on their own. Which of course leaves the best season of all time as...
1. Survivor: Pearl Islands (Nicole, Ryan S., Lill (1), Burton (1), Michelle, Trish, Shawn, Osten, Andrew, Ryan O., Rupert, Tijuana, Christa, Burton (2), Darrah, Jon, Lill (2), Sandra) And finally, we reach the last of my Survivor rankings (not counting the rankings I still need to give to the seven remaining Micronesians, Dabu, the winner, and Micronesia as a whole.) Pearl Islands is a season that I think will never ever be topped in terms of greatness. Something about a post-merge where 7/8 of the boots were blindsides tells me that the merge was awesome. Drake was a great tribe in terms of the moments and characters that they had. Jon was the quintessential villain, Rupert, the quintessential hero. And Sandra is the best winner ever (entertainment-wise) and she was the first and only time that a player I rooted for from day one ended up winning the game. Sure, there were some bad apples in the cast, but even they were great for causing conflicts with the good guys. The twists were amazing this season, probably the first time a season had twisted that were really epic and well-implemented. And if I really think about it, I would say Pearl Islands also had my favorite final 2 of all time. It was an epic season and I doubt it will ever be dethroned. |

Yaaay for Guatemala being so high. Guatemala's my personal favorite season of all time, and was actually my first full season (and my first season at Sucks). Outside of the invisible girl trio, every cast member was a great one (yes, even Jim, Blake and ESPECIALLY Cindy were up there too IMHO). The location was a great one and quite unique considering the 4 seasons before it and 3 seasons after it were island locales. While I hated Stephenie that season about as much as you could hate someone, it definately made it entertaining to root against her and laugh at her as she completely destroyed her game boot after boot post merge. While it was Cindy I was rooting for all season, I was definately happy with the Danni win and consider her one of the top 5 winners. Pearl Islands <3 too, I'd probably rank it as third overall after Guatemala and Borneo. Three of the best characters of all time in Rupert, Fairplay and Sandra. Many epic twists and events, like the Outcasts and the show's first ever quitter. Great boot order post-merge. Rupert's blindside is easily the best of all time. My only complaint with PI is a very superficial one, from a hot girls standpoint I'd probably rank it 16th out of 16 seasons. No women there I found particularly attractive. :P |
