At this point, you have a core group of dedicated fans who will watch every season. Casual viewers will go in and out...but it's the core viewers who will tune in season after season.
It's when the core viewers stop tuning in and we get the ratings nearer to 10 million than 20 that we might wanna start worrying.
But "Survivor" is still a money maker for CBS either way...and relatively inexpensive.
