carrie was incredibly beautiful tonight and adorable when she accepted her entertainer award. the crack about wanting to see matt's boots was pretty spunky and fun.
and yes, she did indeed drop mike's name saying "mike baby, i wish you were here" I rewound it three times because it took me by surprise since she's never, that i recall, acknowledged a boyfriend in public like that.

if and it's a good IF ITYS does not go #1 it's a shame. I mean yea it's remake but it never had these vocals behind it. Hell Randy thinks so even.
It is my fav too as I always can catch myself hearing that song in the back of my head and that performance could be one of those performance of the year noms. Then again so could the JAD performance at the CMAs or her Grammy performance....

The Country music community is unbelievably sexist. The last time a female was nominated for the Entertainer category, was 10 years ago. The men always
dominate the co-ed awards even though the last three or four years country music has been dominated by the ladies.
I was worried she wouldn't win it because Kenny won it for four years running. Then I realized well she won a show because of viewer voting so of course she would win this, and being as she was the only girl, shoe in. I'm guessing though if it was the Academy voting and not the viewers, it might have went to someone else. Which is probably why she hasn't been nominated in the past, because the Academy knew she would dominate. ETA: Carrie's performance was good. I love it when the just gets to sing and own. I hate it when the band overpowers her and she has to shout to be heard. That was the only performance tonight that I noticed got a complete standing O from the crowd, other than Trace's but that's because he had people in the service backing him. Also, dare I say that Miley's vocals were GOOD tonight? She actually sang pretty well.

i actually think she got nominated the first year she really proved herself eligible, with touring. that is mainly what entertainer of the year is about,
which is why the men dominate the way they do. carrie really worked her tail off touring last year, i assume, in order to garner a nomination. if she
hadn't been nominated it would have been obvious they were snubbing her due to her gender.

Well I was thinking in the past they might have thought she was worthy of a nomination, but not of the win. If you put her up in a viewer vote, she's going
to dominate. The only one that I think can ever compete with her in that category is Taylor Swift, who is very popular with the tweens right now.
I mean didn't she win like three AMA's one year, one that was a viewer based "Best Artist of the Year". She also always wins all the CMT awards, along with the People's Choice. ETA: Wasn't the Female Vocalist a viewer based vote too (GAC poll)? I was worried Taylor might win because she has a huge tween following. Other than that I don't ever see her losing that award. She pretty much has a monolopy on it at the CMA's, Grammy's, and ACM's. I just checked and she's won the award 9 times (3 Grammy's, 3 CMA's, 3 ACM's). So far she's swept it.
