yeah I think the official add date to country is 7/21/08.

Has carrie appeared on Leno or other late night talk shows to promote her other singles? I know she goes on the Opry usually but I've never really tracked where else she shows up when a new single comes out

yeah, all the links you can find which completely discourage people from actually buying music SUCKS!

I don't think she's been on a talk show since SS came out. Maybe with her light touring schedule this summer she'll hit up some...

That's right tiger... I forgot about the writer's strike.

still this is her 4th single. Do you think she'll promote it like she would her first?

Does it worry any of you that she's already on her 4th single in less than a year? It seemed like she had more singles off SH because that album lasted so long on the BB200 but she only had four over a 2 year period.... just seems this era is going a lot faster for some reason.

A re-release would work, but definitely not another album so soon. IMO I think she needs a break. Let her tour Australia or wherever else & then come back swinging. I might actually buy CR if she puts more stuff like "IKYW" on it!! That is KILLER--

Brad and Kenny are both working on new albums right now, it seems they are all just shooting em out there now, I know Taylor has a new album coming out next week and then is releasing her sophmore album in November. Just curious what ya'll really think about Taylor and her overexposure, I mean she has more exposure than Carrie for sure this year and she is releasing new music at a warp speed, what with the re-release of Taylor Swift and the I-tunes exclusive EP and now this Walmart exclusive and a new Album soon, seems like an awful lot. JMO

A re-release would be great, maybe with some tracks recorded live or packaged with a DVD.

I'm surprised by how quickly Country acts turn out their albums and I don't think they suffer the same kind of burn out by the fans as a Pop artist would simply because of the fan loyalty that is inherent with country music. They also don't get exposure through any other medium other than Radio and the occassional award show so that probably helps.

My opinion on Taylor is that she's not as over-exposed as it might seem. Yes she seems to be all over the place but it's mostly for her music and nothing else. I read that she signed a deal with Walmart to be the face of their L.e.i jeans and that she's releasing a Walmart exclusive CD tomorrow called Beautiful Eyes which has some previously unreleased tracks as well as alternative versions of some songs from her debut album, plus videos. But I don't see her on the cover of a lot of magazines nor do I read about her in the tabloids so it's not about being "over-exposed" IMO but rather the kind of exposure she's getting. The thing about Taylor to remember is her success is kind of a grassroots effort by her fans through the online community that she has developed through myspace and such. She's not even reached her peak, as hard as that is to believe.

Not to compare Carrie and Taylor but the difference I see is that Carrie has been in everyone's living room basically daily since 2005, in one way or another, be it video, radio, magazines, and now commercials. Now, I'm not saying it's a bad thing cuz lord knows the market changes on a whim and next week it could be brunettes that are the hottest thing on the planet so I think Carrie is very smart to do as much as possible while she is being offered these opportunities and then when all calms down she can settle into a nice relaxing career of just making music and touring.

as for the re-release of Carnival Ride... well I've always viewed re-releases as kind of a rip off to the people who already bought the first copy. I mean if I already went out and spent my money on the CD why should I go buy it again just to get two or three new songs? That's crap and I see it as a marketing tool to push more albums... sometimes it works (ie Taylor Swift) and sometimes it doesn't (ie Beyonce). I personally don't think Carrie should fall into the trap of re-releasing Carnival Ride because it got plenty of great promo, it's had 3 #1 songs already (likely a 4th coming up) and to then turn around and say in effect "that album wasn't good enough let me add some more" just takes away from the intial effort... of course this is all JMO.

I do think a DVD of her tour would be a kickass deal... esp if you combo package it with a copy of CR included!

Funny thing is this..... George Strait has never written one song on his albums, he is not a song writer and until recently neither was Martina Mcbride or Faith Hill.

baba, are you serious? He's never written one song? that's crazy! but then I know Reba McEntire doesn't write either so I'm not sure why I'm surprised by it. I guess that blows my song writer theory out of the water LOL...

I wanted to clarify, I do think Taylor runs the risk of oversaturating the market with her music... she shouldn't be releasing all these lil EPs IMO and should allow anticipation for her sophmore album to build. But I guess her management sees a market for it so it's not up to me to second guess it.

the fact she lost album of the year to Miranda says a lot
Miranda didn't have a top 10 on the album either......yet she took that award from Taylor
The people that run the ACMs/etc are just not buying her vocal ability yet
They must have heard her live and the water gimmick I don't think flys with true Country fans.
That's MTV stuff to me, then again what do I know
