It isn't as if Who2 knew Clay in person, she was a fan until he came out, so make any excuses you want, but it couldn't be more obvious. It cracks me up when people try to cover up their homophobia by saying they're no longer fans because the music went downhill, or some other lame excuse. The same thing happened to Elton John, Ellen DeGeneres and George Michael. People who were fans suddenly didn't like them anymore. Freddy Mercury never came out till he was dying of AIDS. Elton John got married to a female friend to stay in the closet for many years, he was a middle aged man by the time he came out. Richard Chamberlain came out in his 70s. Should we hate them for lying all those years? Of course not. Are they any less talented or good people because we found out they were gay? Of course not. Not really an Elton John fan but that seems wrong to me. I vaguely remember him marrying at a very young age around the time her first went to L.A. to sing in the club joints there. I heard he found out he was gay during that marriage. After the it ended he came out he came out as a bi-sexual, THEN he married a second time in the mid-eighties. It was after the second divorce he declared the he was gay, I think. [I could be wrong. Like I said, I'm not really a fan.] As for your claims that Clay lost fans because they're homophobes, I don't buy it. I'd previously read that as he didn't admit he was dying with AIDS. I think he either came out in early in his career or everyone just accepted it as fact. He supposedly had the most outrages parties where I heard he'd pick up guys.

It was waaaaaaaaaaay too hard to be his fan and frankly, there was nothing to be a fan of. No good music, I'm not a fan of broadway really and cover songs don't do it for me for concerts. So mind your own fucking business and stop acting like you are the head honcho of everything Clay. People can feel and act and choose to be a fan of, or NOT be a fan of, any artist they want. I also think Who was smart enough to probably figure he was gay all along, unlike you Robbin who actually admitted you thought he was straight. Ellen is MORE popular than ever. She wins Emmy's, People's Choice Awards, her show is amazingly successful and all since coming out. Elton John? He's one of the most successful artists of all time. His concerts are always packed. George Michael had a very public drug problem. Did it ever occur to you that people got turned off by THAT and not the gay? It seems you project your own feelings onto other people. I have seen you say "You're over" Clay being gay which means you HAD a problem at one point. Which begs the question, WHY did you have a problem? Clay did lose some fans by coming out but IMO he lost fans he NEEDED to lose. It's too bad he didn't come out years ago and shed those fucking nutters. He could've saved himself and the rest of us a lot of grief.
