Well that's interesting news. Even though some of his fans bug me at times, I want to congratulate him on getting this role. I think the fact that Diane
Sawyer always seemed to like him and being that her hubby, Mike Nichols is the producer, might have initiated talks in this direction.
Clay is a very talented performer and I'm sure he is going to kick butt with this opportunity. |

this really could be just the right fit for Clay! I hope he's wildly successful in this venture!

From Wikipedia:
Later in the second Act, it's Sir Robin who sings the show-stopping "You Won't Succeed On Broadway" and during the Finale reveals that his "Grail" is musical theatre. I gotta get there somehow. |

I'm not an expert but I do go into town several times a year and will glad to answer any questions about restaurants, hotels and such. Thanks, Spring. I've never been to NY. Do you know a rough ballpark figure of what hotels cost? They don't have to be mega close, but I have no idea what to expect. |

Willow, if you really want an all out Broadway/NYC experience go for the brassy, fun Marriott Marquise right onTimes Square. Expect to pay around 150-200 a
night for close to the theatre district, but since it's after the holiday rush you might do better. I've had good luck with Priceline and hotels.com.
Make sure you search for hotels on the west side in the 50's and 40's so you can walk. Book early as NYC has a very high occupancy rate. If you
don't stay close be prepared to shell out the bucks for taxis - if you can find one.
As for sightseeing, I haven't been to the new MOMA but I spent hours looking at Van Gogh's "Starry Night" and Monet's "Water Lilies" at the old one. The MMOA is enourmous but if you're a ancient history buff the Egyptian section is amazing (and better than the King Tut exhibit, I might add). Skip going out to Ellis island, you get a better view of the Statue of Libery on the Staten Island ferry or Circle line cruises. Also, if you're not coming back to NYC for a long time, visit gound zero. It's our Wailing Wall. |

Anyway WMW...it's my Halloween avi. Nice and grotesque. The dog got hungry. And back to the topic at hand, I truly hope that the good & respectful Clay fans way more than override the nuts who will go to the theatre to see this. Not everyone in the audience will be there will be there to see Clay (shocking but true!) and I hope the crazy ones don't ruin the Broadway theatre experience with the squealing & screaming & thudding that goes on at the concerts. And before I get shit for saying that, ALL of us know how the crazy faction of fans of his act. Not all his fans, but the fanatics. |
