Gnarls, agreed about the Latin countries having the best clay players, but he still had about as good a draw as one can hope for in a Slam... he was isolated away from all of the most fearsome ones in what could have been his early rounds.

Undies, the beast is on the US tube because the US media machine has this exceptionally misguided belief that she's who all of us here want to see, unfortunately. "Competitive match" > "American player", IMO, but the 'tards who make the decisions don't see it that way.

No tennis, OR softball, on the tube for moi, Jit... no cable television here. I'm gonna find a live feed source for the tennis in the next day or so, though.




Kuertin made his final bows today, losing to Mathieu in straight sets...

It's good to see Coria back. I don't know what's going on re: his match, though (he's up against Robredo in the 1st Round)... the match is scheduled for tomorrow, but the RG site has pics of each of them TODAY in what look to be live-action photographs. Hmmmmm...



I wish that Myskina would get back on the scene, but that seems somewhat doubtful at this point.


Also falling today: Moya, and Vaidisova, who's had a string of not-so-good results for a while, now.

Coria had a good match even though he lost, Ashley. Considering how little he's played over the past few years, today's match should raise his confidence level.




Canas won 6 games in each of the first 3 sets of his match... and lost in 3 sets, getting 6, 1, and 8 points in tiebreakers! What a tough way to bow out! A few points here and there, and he'd have WON, instead.
