Tonight was a most entertaining day of action. In just one quarter of the men's draw, we had 4 out of 4 matches go 5 sets. I love this Kei Nishikori kid,
who just had the upset of the tournament, taking out Dave Ferrer. We had John del Potro who is on a 20+ match winning streak (22 I think?) take out Gilles
Simon in 5; we also had Stan the Man Wawrinka win in 5 and Andy Murray also won in 5 sets. Now, James Blake is about to face off against Mardy Fish in what
might just be another 5-setter. Oh the drama!

Yay Nishikori. I haven't seen this guy play before and I was afraid he'd go the way of Gulbis (early lead which he basically gives away) but I'm
glad he won. I'm all for new faces though I am a big Nadal fan.

Wow - I can't believe Fish beat him in 3 sets. I saw the very end - crazy.
In local, lower level tennis - I am playing in a Labor day tournament and won two matches today to get to the doubles semi-final tomorrow. Woohoo! |

Robredo - Tsonga should be the best Men's match of the day. Total agreement on the quality of yesterday's Men's matches, which will probably be the best day of the tournament, in terms of close contests, for the guys. Way to go, Ms. Jones!! 
ETA: Son of a BITCH, what a match between Muller and Almagro!!! Tommy and Jo will have to have an incredible match to better that!

Muller-Almagro was my favorite match today. I am loving this Cilic/Djoko match too though. Kick his annoying ass, Cilic. As much as I love Nadal and Federer
(yes, it is possible), it'd be cool to see a final with a bunch of random people (assholes like Roddick and Djoko not allowed either).
