I just got FREE tickets to see Bill Maher tomorrow night at The Orleans in Las Vegas...one of the perks of being a local.
Can't wait!
I guess this means we are not getting an HBO show tomorrow night then? My tickets say he goes on at 8 pm.

Bill won't be back on HBO until next Friday. He said on the last regular show he was going to be off for 2 weeks. I'm so excited for you. I bought a
couple of his DVDs last week and also his New Rules book.

OK, here are my crappy camera phone pictures...
Dang those are awful. He was funny. Talked about Obama a lot, about Palin, about Bush and Republicans forever, about Religion at the end. And there was a Muslim Fashion Show. He spoke for about 2 hours! He wore %$%@$ and a t-shirt and some ugly brown shoes. He looked shorter than I imagined him to be, but that's always the case with celebrities. |

Was tonight's Real Time filmed in time to talk about Tardo The Wonder Hag resigning?

It's a repeat isn't it? My DVR didn't pick it up. Bill said her resignation means she is going to run in 2012.

Oh yeah, duh. I guess he wouldn't do a standup and a Real Time in the same night, would he?
I'm sweepy. |

Actually yes. When he performed here a month or so ago he taped the show at its usual time and then hopped aboard a plane and did a late show here at either
10:30 or 11 pm. I tried to get tix for that show but was too late. I'm glad now cuz tonight's show was at 8 pm and that works for me better. :old

He'll be in Austin next Friday, and Kathy Griffin the night before. The Palin resignation makes me want to see both worse than normal. But I am a broke
grad student in the middle of an unpaid internship right now. Sucks.

Bill Maher is part of the problem.

He bitches and moans about cultural decline while he contributes to it. I'm specifically referring to the closing monologue tonight. Comedians try to
justify contributing nothing relevent to society but claiming they are through "subversiveness".

I haven't watched yet, but Bill Maher contributes to cultural decline???
I can think of 100 things like reality tv, rap music, Paris Hilton, and bankruptcy laws that would be much much higher on the list. |

Carboys Desire wrote: Aside from the bankruptcy laws, how does any of this affect you? I never even heard of Paris Hilton until I heard someone complain about how they were sick of seeing her. Deconstructionalism is a very popular thing to do among those too worthless to contribute to anything. and you are posting on a Reality TV centric message board. |

Huh?
Bankruptcy laws allow people a way out from their moral obligation to pay their debts. Far too many people take advantage of those laws. I've read of individuals who file bankruptcy 3 or 4 times. Reality tv, rap music, and Paris Hilton are part of popular culture. Each of the three have elements that also contribute to moral decay and if you pretend to not understand that then perhaps you have already been affected--I don't know. These things do not affect me as I had my head screwed on straight (at least in my mind) and tight before these three things came into mass appeal. But I am very happy to not have to raise a child with these cultural influences. At 44, am I just getting old? Maybe, but that's my opinion. Just as you think Bill Maher contributes to the problem, I think there are many more things that are worse contributors. |
