![]() 17. Fran & Barry The Franberries were the best.old.team.ever. They were fun, spunky, and were able to kick ass. They weren't push overs, and when they stood up to Lake I was laughing my ass off. I loved that they hated Lake as much as I did. And when Fran gave him attitude, it led to Lakes funny line of "She's a doctor's wife, she shouldn't be acting like that." The inner chauvinist comes out! Haha. They were able to scrape by and do well with smarts/navigation and when they came in first in Oman, I was cheering - they really deserved it. To see them get eliminated over a stupid cabby sucked - although I wasn't too disappointed because Rayo stayed in, but it still sucked. Race Highlight: Beating out the Hippies and the Frats to come in first place and thus owning the competition. <3
18. Meredith & Gretchen Admittedly, these two would be so much higher if they didn't hate Romber with a passion on the race, but I still loved them. They were outrageously funny, especially Gretchen. It's also pretty awesome that the guy's name is Meredith. Race Highlight: "WE HAVE A BAD ELEPHANT! WE HAVE A BAD ELEPHANT!" I still can't believe she got into the little basket at the top. WHAT was she thinking? |

but especially Goddess Gretchen, the TRUE star of TAR7 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 They were completely endearing and entertaining, AND they are still the oldest couple to reach the final four. On the other hand, I initially disliked the Franberries for being so completely boring and inept (especially at finding clueboxes). They always chose the wrong (harder) detours. Started to like them in Oman when they came in first and beat the frats and the hippies. |

I don't like count ups, how anticlimactic. Good taste though! :)

Every other old team >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Meredith/Gretchen and Fran/Barry
"We're starting the Save the Rhino foundation; and that aint no 'lion'"If Marc/Rovilson or Eric/Jeremy made that joke I bet everyone would have cringed. Old Team Bias HATE. Lakes funny line of "She's a doctor's wife, she shouldn't be acting like that." The inner chauvinist comes out! That wasn't chauvinistic, it was a comment about the lack of class you wouldn't expect from her - after Lake tried to help them in Leg 1 but they were so inept they still couldn't finish the task they acted like bitter dicks for the rest of their race.

Lake works in the medical field right?
I took it as how a wife should be submissive and passive, without attitude, like his wife. |

ADC is irrationally in love with Bob/Joyce, the TK/Rachel of senior citizen teams.
As for the joke, they get a pass because they are unintentionally funny 99% of the time, not like the scripted Roviltwat. |

I never really get into the seniors teams like a lot of people seem to - I thought Fran/Barry were one of the least endearing elderly teams ever, maybe because
I don't remember them doing anything except going 'Oh my Gaaaaaaahhhhhhd' at almost every pit stop. And their elimination in my home town after the
awesome 'dragging branches across the beach' Detour.
And Meredith/Gretchen were painful to watch. Gretchen was just so incredibly stupid in the India leg - first in her Roadblock where she thought shrieking at the silver boxes was the most effective way to look inside them, and then the 'bad elephant' fiasco. Which is funny in retrospect, but at the time I found it infuriating that they could be so inept and still survive the elimination. Most of the older racers I've liked have been out early or part of family teams - Jim in TAR5, Ron & Don in TAR12. But I'm glad Jon/Al were in the list - I don't care how corny they were, because they were the last team I cared about left in TAR4, and once they were eliminated I lost all interest in the finale - the only time ever that I really didn't care who in the final three won. |

<3 All of Level 5's non-Clowns related opinions. In retrospect, I can appreciate Gretchen given how mind-blowingly dull all the other teams became, but seeing them narrowly beating Susan/Patrick, Brian/Greg and Lynn/Alex (in two of those cases due to nothing but luck) was depressing in a season where I had absolutely no-one to root for by the end. TAR4 at least had Kelly <3 Don/MJ = funniest, Dave/Margaretta = sweetest, Bob/Joyce = most competent. The others were mostly feeble or annoying. Bob standing up for himself against Mirna and Chip. Sucks seems to irrationally love old teams based solely on how much they shriek (Gretchen, the Boring Moms). |

Meredith & Gretchen <3! I remember thinking they were incompetent and just got lucky, but when I went re-watched TAR 7, they really were a strong team

Sorry all but I got busy and then got lazy. But I made a list of all the survivors, so I'll finish up TAR and then post the survivors.
19. Tian & Jaree TAR4 was the first season I saw, and I hated T/J. But once they grew and learned from their experience in India, I loved them. Unfortunately when they got along great, they were eliminated. Race Highlight: The huge blowout in Amsterdam on the steel boats. "LET ME TAKE IT!!!"
20. Dave & Margaretta Very sweet couple. Don't remember that much from TAR1, but I loved them for their sweetness, and their philimination was touching. Everyone was sad. Race Highlight: Their elimination. Touching moment. |

Next: The countDOWN of the 277 survivors (All Stars appearance and original appearance separated to the best of my ability). The way ASS seasons
will work is that I will rank them based on their seasons separately, but I will let the others influence how I feel about them. Weird I know, but example:
Hated Rudy during Borneo, but loved him on All Stars. So on re-watch, I love Rudy in Borneo, so he will be really high up. If that makes any sense.
While I post the first 8-10, any predictions? :P |
