Red means the team was eliminated.
Green means the team won the Fast Forward clue. A green-colored leg number indicates that the Fast Forward was available for that leg but not used.
A Blue team's placement means the team came in last on a non-elimination leg and has to perform a Speed Bump task in the following leg . In addition, half of the team's total money will be confiscated at the Pit Stop, and the team will start the next leg with no money.
A brown » means the team chose to use a U-Turn; « indicates the team who received it;
«» indicates a leg where the U-Turn was available but not used.
Matching colors and symbols (+, ^ and ~) indicate teams who worked
together during part of the leg as a result of the Intersection route marker.
A yellow > means that team chose to use the Yield; < indicates the team who
received it; <>
indicates a leg where the Yield was available but not used.
A purple } means the team chose to use a Road Obstacle; { indicates the team who received it; {} indicates a leg
where the Road Obstacle was available but not used.
An orange W indicates that the team has won a
stand-off, and an orange L indicates that the team has lost a
stand-off.
A light blue Y
indicates the successful completion of an opt-task, and a light blue N indicates the failure to complete an opt-task.
The number in parentheses indicates which opt-task the team chose to attempt, if there are multiple opt-tasks in that
leg.
Note [1]: Leg 2 was a split leg, with teams with positions in bold and italic going to
Australia, and teams without going to Taiwan and China. There was an intersection for the teams taking the Taiwan and China Route, but only Dick and Amber and
Susie and Andy intersected. Jonnothun and Viktorya continued the leg alone after a 2h wait. Inactive teams took an Elimination Challenge. Jonnothun and
Viktorya won a stand-off against time, where they had to finish the task within 15 minutes, or lose the stand-off. The U-Turn was offered in Australia and the
Yield was offered in China. The split leg continued for leg 3. The yield was offered in East Timor and the Road Obstacle in Japan.
Note [2]: Leg 6 was a double-length leg, taking place over two weeks instead of the usual one week. Teams met Phil at St. Peter's Basilica at the half-way
point, only to have him hand them their next clue instead of checking them in. The Fast Forward for this leg was only available for the second half of the leg,
which allowed Dick and Amber, who chose to do the Fast Forward, to skip all remaining tasks in Austria and head directly for the Pit Stop.
Leg 6 asterisk (*): Opt-task 3 for leg six was actually divided into five parts. The first team to correctly
solve each part will earn the money for that part. Teams were also given a choice of dropping out after completing each part, or continuing on. Dick and Amber
finished part 1 first, earning 10 USD, but decided to drop out. Amy and Jones did not earn any money for completing the first part of opt-task 3 as Dick and
Amber completed it first, but then earned the remaining 200 USD Jackpot money by correctly solving all remaining parts of the opt-task.

The location of Sequesterville for this race is...
Zürich, Switzerland!!!
Rules:
Money:
-A set amount of USD will be given at the start of every leg.
-Teams may beg to locals/other teams (begging to locals is a little different, this is explained further down). Post *beg to (team)* to beg to other teams.
Teams may only give up to 20% of their total cash to any one team. IN ADDITION, A TEAM CAN ONLY GIVE CASH TO A MAXIMUM OF ONE TEAM ON A LEG.
Also, teams are not allowed to give/receive money after they have checked into a pit stop. Teams may only give/receive money if both teams are at the SAME
POST.
Ex. If Team A has to post *run and receive clue* and team B also has to post *run and receive clue*, team A may now post *beg to team B* and then *run and
receive clue* in the same post, then team B would post *give (money) to team A* and *run and receive clue* in the same post.
Flights, connecting flights, and
airports:
- At the airport, teams can only book tickets for themselves unless otherwise stated.
- Some planes have layovers or are connecting through other countries. During this connecting period, teams can research for
better flights.
Researching for better flights:
-When a plane stops for a layover, teams can post *research for better flights* in the hopes that a better flight will crop up. However, teams
will need to wait TWO UPDATES before they see the results of their research. The results can range from no results, to slower or faster flights. If the team
chooses to transfer flights, that team must post *transfer to (flight)*.
Ex. Team A has found an Air New Zealand flight that departs from Beijing at
8.16pm and lands at 8.22pm. Team A
must post *transfer to Air New Zealand flight*.
Global Airline Travel Agency
- This Agency is present at EVERY airport. This agency will show ALL the available airlines at a point in time, and teams may
choose any of the flights to book. However, this agency is significantly slower than specialised airline counters, it will take FOUR updates instead of the
usual one, so think carefully about your strategy in booking tickets. This Agency WILL NOT show flights that can only be found by researching, and you do not
have to book tickets at this agency when you enter.
- If you miss a flight, or if you wake up late and ALL the flights have already left, teams will have to go to this agency to find the next possible flight.
Take note, these extra flights will ALWAYS be slower than the scheduled flights. See the point on searching for alternative flights to learn more.
Locals:
- Teams may beg to locals anytime by posting *beg to passerbys* followed by any skits (no limit). Begging takes THREE UPDATES. During this time, teams can post
as many skits as they want. After 3 updates, teams can receive ANYTHING from 0 to 50 USD depending on HOW PERSUASIVE THEIR SKIT WAS. So post persuasive skits
during this period of time! TEAMS MAY NOT BEG TO LOCALS IF THAT LEG IS A NON-BEGGING LEG (NBL).
How to earn
money:
There are various ways teams can earn money throughout this race.
1. Begging to locals/other teams
2. Money at the start of every leg
3. 20 USD is given if a team has sufficiently being developed as actual humans.
4. 10 USD for a title quote.
5. A team will receive 30 USD for coming in first on any given leg, 20 USD for
coming in second, and 10 USD for coming in third. No additional money is awarded for any position after third.
6. Be the first team to complete an Opt-Task.
Non-Elimination Legs:
A team which comes last in a NEL will get HALF of their total money confiscated, receive no money for the next leg and has to complete a SPEED BUMP.
Intersection:
Teams have to intersect 3 times in this race and teams have to intersect with a different team at each intersection.
If an intersected team wants to use a yield/u-turn/road obstacle:
1. They have to check whether any of the 2 teams intersected have used a yield/u-turn/road obstacle.
2. If 1 team has already used a yield, for example, the other team's yield will be used and that other team cannot use another yield for the course of the
race.
3. If neither of the teams have used a yield, the teams have to post a UNION post (Union meaning both teams posting the same post) that *(team) is yielding (team)*. The team chosen will lose his yield for the remaining legs of the race,
but the other team will NOT have lost the yield.
Remember, both teams must post in order for them to be updated. If a team cannot intersect, that team must wait 2h before continuing the leg alone.
Yield:
Yields last 10 minutes starting from when teams post *turn over hourclock*. A team may only use ONE yield throughout the entire race even
when intersected.
Roadblock:
Each team member can do a maximum of 8 roadblocks throughout the course of this race. If a team is intersected, the roadblock has to be performed by one member
from each intersected team.
Fast Forward:
A team may only use a Fast Forward once throughout the entire race even when intersected. If an intersected team wants to do an FF, BOTH teams will lose the
ability to use another FF for the rest of the race, so the intersected teams must think carefully!
Superlegs:
There are basically 3 types of superlegs:
1. The next leg starts IMMEDIATELY after the previous leg.
2. The next leg starts immediately after the previous leg, but teams will be told to book themselves on a form of transportation that will not arrive until the
next day.
3. Teams are told to continue racing, without a pit stop in between.
ROAD OBSTACLE:
The Road Obstacle allows any one team to force another team to complete an extra task before they can check
into the Pit Stop. The Road Obstacle can be used on any team, REGARDLESS WHETHER THE TEAM IS IN FRONT OR BEHIND THE TEAM USING THE ROAD OBSTACLE, AS LONG AS
THE TEAM HAS NOT CHECKED IN. Teams may only use 1 Road Obstacle throughout the
entire race, so teams must decide when it is in their best interest to do so. In addition, teams will not know how many total road obstacles are in the entire
race, so there may only be 1, or there may be 10, so teams must think carefully.
OPT-TASK
An opt-task is an extra task that you can choose to do during this race (Thus the term Opt-Task, or Optional Task). Each Opt-Task has a
JACKPOT associated with it. The first team to complete the Opt-Task will take ALL the money in the jackpot. Each new team that joins the same Opt-Task
(starting from the second team) will increase the amount in the jackpot by 10 USD. However, teams WILL NOT know what task the opt-task is, just the relative
difficulty of the task. Also, once teams have chosen to do an opt-task, they MAY NOT back out of the task until they successfully complete it or another team
finishes the opt-task. The choice is up to you: Time? Or money?
STAND-OFF
A stand-off only happens during an intersection and it is a task that pits one intersected team against the other. The
losing team in a stand-off will incur a 15 minute penalty. THE INTERSECTION WILL BE BROKEN AFTER THE STAND-OFF.
