But it was Parv who pulled Natalexis away from Eliza and created the BWB. Amanda never went head to head against Eliza the way Parv did at that point. Eliza might have an edge in challenge ability when you factor in her Puzzle Queen status and New Airai's ownage post-switch. Thought it's practically a toss-up. Facing a jury, Amanda is 0/2. Lawyer girl might just have the strateigic cred and speaking skills to do better. Of the China cast, Eliza is most like PG. Of the Vanuatu cast, Amanda is most like Julie

Posts: 1322 (06/07/09 8:15 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Just because Amanda never went head to head with Eliza and Eliza was better at puzzle challenges doesn't mean Eliza's a better player. Eliza was pretty much never in a position of power, compared with Amanda, who had a near perfect voting record (21 of 22), and was pretty much always in a position of power.

Posts: 3267 (06/07/09 8:33 PM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I was just gonna say what Jack did then i saw he said it lol Eliza is unable to get herself into a good position while Amanda is excellent at it which is why Amanda will always beat Eliza in any given season. And when it comes to challenges i think Amanda still might have the edge just cause she is good at everything that isn't a puzzle, from ninja star throwing to intense concentration/endurance challenges.

Getting into the weaker alliance is an error that is correctable. Thus, Parv and Candice were not inferior to Becky and Sundra in Cooks merely because Yul outplayed Adam\Jonathan at the merge. Unfortunately, the factors that led Amanda to lose two jury votes are harder to overcome.

IMO she got alot of bad luck in micronesia though and you are right that being in the weaker alliance doesnt always mean you are worse. But still, the CONSTANT instability might suggest that she is just not as great at positioning herself, perhaps due to a weaker social game. Eliza even said that herself in the micro F10 TC. Meanwhile, Amanda improved in terms of jury vote between China and micronesia. Her micro FTC performance was much much better than her China one and she went from 1 vote to 3 votes. Also, if Micro had been a F3 Amanda could have likely won.

Yes, Amanda wasn't as great at puzzles as Eliza, but she wasn't terrible at them (see China F4 RC, FvF F4 IC..). As said before, Amanda knew how to get into a secure and powerful alliance and knew how to stay calm under pressure. Her gameplay gave her a near perfect voting record, and zero valid votes against her across 2 seasons. Amanda was never regarded as being weak either, so she was never targetted pre-merge (whereas some of the faves saw Eliza as the weakest favourite.) Sure, Eliza may be a better speaker than Amanda, but without a good social game, some jurors may not vote for her just because they don't like her.

Amanda doesn't even need to say anything to keep my attention <3

After 78 consecutive days on Survivor, two endgame breakdowns, and living with Denise, of course Amanda's mind would be rattled by the time FTC rolled around.

That's true of Sucks, but her defenders go too far the other way, as if she was the model of good gameplay. In ranking players, I consider their potential to WIN, not just to go far (Amanda) or make interesting moves (Sugar, Jonathan). Many aspects of Amanda's game that save her from being targeted (low-key, introverted, behind the scenes gameplay) also make her likely to lose to most decent players (Todd, Courtney, Peih Gee.or Parvati, Cirie, Ozzy). I loved Katie and Danielle and Stephen too, but their fate with the jury does reveal flaws in their game.
